Best way to follow the Supermeet at home?Posted by Jon Chappell
For those of us not going to NAB this year, what's the best way of following the Supermeet? Is anyone live-blogging it or is Twitter our only option here?
(For those who speak French, there's going to be a liveblog here: [www.finalcutmtl.org] ) My software: Pro Maintenance Tools - Tools to keep Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro running smoothly and fix problems when they arise Pro Media Tools - Edit QuickTime chapters and metadata, detect gamma shifts, edit markers, watch renders and more More tools...
The Digital Production Buzz has this page for NAB updates. But I don't know if it will help you with what's going on with the Supermeet.

Ok, thanks Mike.

Here is a clue:
Jude Cotter Living and working in the wilds of Western Australia, Jude is a freelance offline and online broadcast editor with more than 300 television programmes to her credit. In her spare time, she is a moderator at the LAFCPUG forum and writes FCP tutorials for kenstone.net. She also occasionally teaches in person for Apple centres and Universities.
Hmm, why are you limiting it to two options?
There may be any number of codecs and containers involved. BTW in an interesting I aside I've read that in the history of film, editor was once considered a "female" position. Supposedly many film editors in the very early 1900's were woman. The reasoning was that editing required very detailed work much like sowing. Maybe it's apocryphal but it's mentioned here and I've read this in other sources and interviews as well. [filmsound.org]

There's something incongruous about that . . . or maybe it's completely congruous. Thanks to the "Tweeter" though. I see large room for misinterpretation and viral spread of that via Twitter so use the 140 wisely.
More from the personal speculation department but Apple probably didn't want the stream in case something went awry in the presentation. I therefore wouldn't be surprised if they have approval rights on the content of any video that gets posted. I'd bet it'll be video recorded. If you don't see anything you might scan YouTube late tonight to see if an iPhone video was uploaded before the pull down order happens.
