Right. That's always been the case, and I would never have considered it, except it seems a shame not to be able to stripe all those internals together, and I figured maybe with those screamin' drive speeds it might be workable now.
But if not, is there any harm or any gotchas associated with putting the startup / apps / library, etc, on an external firewire?

[www.transintl.com] I am doing this in my 8 core. 4 drives RAID 5 with the Caldigit RAID card. System drive in the bottom optical bay. I believe Shane Ross did this with a home made rig.
