Multiclip Edit sputters out on 3 angles

Hiya,
I've always used the Multiclip function without a problem. Now I'm using it with 3 ProRes422 angles, and it will work for about 30 seconds and then begin to freeze up, cough and wheeze, and then finally stop working. Any thoughts on this? It works fine if i use any of the two angles, but three seems to do 'er in.

I'm using FCP 7.0.3, and media is on LaCie Rugged, 7200 RPM drive.

There is no way that a firewire drive, even firewire 800, can handle three streams of ProRes footage.

You need a 2-drive eSATA external...at least.

Just finished a Multiclip edit - 9 angles playing perfectly off a G-Raid external eSata Drive. Use Media Manager to create Prores Proxy files. Fantastic quality for Multiclip editing compared to Photo Jpeg etc.
