Imported QT files do not render at full resolution

FCP 4.5.2
Max OSX 10.3.9 (highest that will support 4.5.2)

Our company uses Captivate software to convert PC screen files to swf files.
In the past, I used GeoVid to convert the swf to AVI for editing in FCP, but the new AVI xVID format is not compatible with my FCP system. I now use another program to convert the swf files to QT. They look great at 798 x 626 and play back normally on QT player.

When I bring the converted swf to QT files into FCP, they default to 88.6% screen size (in the Motion window) and I bring them back up to 100%.

The program edits normally. However, when I view the edited FCP QT movie on QT player, the resolution of the imported QT files is horrible. This was not a problem when I could import the old-style (pre xVid) AVI files.

Any ideas?
