Using anamorphic frames in DVD SP

I am finishing up a video that was shot on DV anamorphically so that it sorta looks like HD sized,(UGH)

Can I just use Compressor to turn this into a true widescreen 16:9 DVD or is there another way?

Did you ever get an answer to this post? I'm trying to get DV 16x9 anamorphic to DVD, and the only options are 4x3, or 16x9 letterbox.
