It depends what for but basically there are lots of advantages to using Toast. For recordable media it's usually best to Output a Region All .img to the Hard Drive. DVDSP4 defaults to Region 7 disabled. Then burn the .img with Toast this means you can control the burn speed and DVDSP is free to do more authoring.
While some say burning at the 'rated' speed is best, when it comes to recordable media compatibility for DVD Authoring burning slower is far often better. So you may want to burn fast for your proofs then anything you're sending out as slow as poss given your media and drive combo,
