Presentations on DVD

Is it possible to make a video on a DVD operate like a presentation (Power Point or Keynote)? I need to have the DVD pause at certain points until the speaker is ready to move on and then play video until the next pause, etc. I've been experimenting with markers in FCP, but am not sure if that is the way to go. I have both DVD Studio Pro and iDVD, etc. Want sort of a "slideshow" but of video (not stills) that can be manually advanced. I've tried sending Keynote to DVD, but the output is really poor quality on screen.

Any suggestions for how do to this (if possible), would be appreciate.

If you know the exact spot that the video should pause, all you have to do is send the viewer to a menu at that position, which looks like the last frame of the previous video. You can then add a button to call the next video in the sequence, which in fact could be a new track or story. As long as the menu background looks like the video screen it will be fine... a small pause as you enter the menu and leave it should get hidden by the speaker's presentational skills!
