Need help with importing layers of PSD: mismatch of layers

Hi everyone,

I would appreciate our help. I will try to be brief, while still being precise.

I have jpg. I went into photoshop, selected a part of the image, say one of the people in the still.

The background layer is now layer 0 (default as it unlocks) and the selected part of the layer 0 was copied to a new layer (layer 1) for scale animation in motion.

Yes, pretty basic so far, right?

Problem: When I import the PSD file into motion, using the option "import all layers" the layers do not match each other anymore, meaning the layer 1 is not in the position and scale it was in photoshop.

I think what is happening is that Motion is resetting the anchor point of the layer 1, that has alpha and is not centered in the full frame, so when it is on top of layer 0, that is full frame, the anchor points are not the same in the original picture, middle of the frame, including the alpha part.

By default, Motion scales down large skills to fit the Canvas. Two solutions:

1) Make your project size match your photo size

2) Change the default behavior in Preferences.
