Powering Up

Hi,

Now that I don't leave my drives on all the time I'm wondering what the optimal order is for powering my equipment on and off. This is what I'm doing now:

Power on:

1) Turn on external monitors
2) Turn on Master External FW Drive
3) Turn on Slave FW Drive
4) Turn on G5

Power off:

1) Eject hard drives from desktop
2) Turn off Slave Drive
3) Turn off Master Drive
4) Shut down G5
5) Turn off external monitors

Is this right?

Thanks

That's completely fine. With Firewire drives - you can always power them up after the computer is started and dismount them with the computer still running. They are more forgiving but just do not power off a mounted Firewire drive before Ejecting it first, or you will have grief.

Safe is to use your process!
