The drive just contains the system software. As Ken mentioned, just remove the bad drive, install a new one, turn on the computer, and it will "find" the external bootable drive. You can then CCC the working drive back onto the new internby Matt Murray - Café LA Re: I have no where to turn, MAC MINI PROBLEMS please help me - 16 years agoWhen you say you can't get it to show up, have you installed a system onto the drive yet? You can start it up in Firewire mode by connecting it to your computer via Firewire, and then starting it up while holding down the "T" key. Or.. Insert a Mac OS install CD, start it up while holding down the "C" key. Final file size is about 1.6 megs for 1:41 seconds Pando is a great tool for sending/receiving large files, FREE for Mac or PC. Under the Ownership and Permissions arrow, toggle it down, and select your choice of You Can Read & Write. I guess I have been lucky, I've been running 5 LaCies for over 3 years and never had any problems. If you are having problems with the 7 MB limit, you can Ichat larger files very easily, or, my favorite is Pando. I have sent and received files up to 980+ MB using it. Free for Mac or PC. This allows me to view the "final" product before burning to disc. I have been using Ritek Ridata from for over 3 years. 4 or 8X white printable, and have had very few problems out of over a thousand burned.by Matt Murray - Café LA Re: MPEG Size - 17 years agoI have really gotten some good results using h.264 and 320X240, quality set to low. The resulting file is surprisingly good quality, and relatively low in size. 3 minutes 40 seconds at around 10 megs. Not the speediest one around, and the newer version is probably faster. Prints great looking DVD's though.
