I shall look into the Blackmagic Intensity. I find it hard to believe there isn't an Apple fix for this to run through the TB port on the back of the display - there must be thousands of editors worldwide who want this configuration. Johnby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: Log and Transfer - 10 years agoI had a similar problem with Sony EX clips. I had a corrupted clip which only partially ingested. In log and transfer I highlighted the clip on the left hand panel then played the corrupt clip on the right hand logging panel - marked in point at the next frame after the end of the of the partially ingested clip ie.the point of corruption - and out at the end and then add clip to queue. This worksby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Macbook Pro + Thunderbolt Display + HDMI TV monitor - is this configuration possible? - 10 years agoHi all, Apologies if this is a repeat or stupid question but I'm only an occasional visitor. I have a MBP and a Thunderbolt display. I would like to monitor my video output on an HD TV as well. Is it possible to arrange the MBP into TB display then TB display to HDMI TV via the TB out port on the Display using an adaptor? Is it then possible to get the video out playing on the TV? Fby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Importing JPEGs / change import settings? - 13 years agoI have been editing on a Quantel system which allows stills to be imported high resolution ie the full size of image. This means you see only part of the image in the editing window if viewed at video resolution. You need to zoom-out to see full frame - but this system allows you to zoom-in a long way and do rostrum-type moves within the image without reducing output quality. Can this be doneby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: voice over tool - 5 second pre-roll - can you kill it? - 14 years agoThanks for tyhe ideas - the soundtrack pro idea is fine - but when you are dealing in seconds and stroppy journalists and deadlines which are set in stone - you need an instant record option - I shall send the notion to Apple and see whether they can do anything. Cheers allby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA voice over tool - 5 second pre-roll - can you kill it? - 14 years agoHi - I work in TV news - often against the clock. Recently I edited a package and at the mention of voice over the reporter was stood ready to go. He expected the system to be able to record VO instantly. Fortunately I was working on Quantel and it is very fast. In FCP it takes longer as there is a 5 sec pre-roll. Is there a way of hitting the ground running? ie to click record and for the recordby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: Expresscard/34 on Macbook Pro - 16 years agoThanks - I have looked at the caldigit site but can't see 2 x firwire 800 option. I am editing with some older FW800 drives without SATA interfaces. Johnby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Expresscard/34 on Macbook Pro - 16 years agoHi, I have a brand new 15 inch Macbook Pro 2.4 with 4 gig RAM. I want to run FW 800 devices through the Expresscard but can't get the MBP to see the drives attached to the card. I have a Belkin FireWire 800 ExpressCard Model F5U514. The Belkin web site says that it is good for the Mac. The system profiler sees the two FW800 slots and they are visible in Preferences within the networking pagby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: firewire deck [missing] after OSX upgrade - 17 years agoThanks for the feedback - I'm now up and running - I tried the QT reciept deleting process process - no luck - then I re-downloaded QT7 from the apple website and bingo!!! Don't know why - but there you go - it's a bug! Good luck Johnby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: Cannot capture - 17 years agoHi, I've had a similar problem - I'm using a dsr 25 deck. I was on 10.3.9 and upgraded to Tiger. I then didn't use the FCP system until after a second software upgrade (Quicktime Pro add-on) - so I didn't know which - if either - was the problem. I had some good feedback and helpful hints from the forum and got the link which explains deleting the QT reciepts - I went through that proceedure withby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA Re: firewire deck [missing] after OSX upgrade - 17 years agoI have just got back from holidays and have been looking at the missing deck problem again. I have re-installed Quicktime - presumably losing my earlier Quicktime Pro upgrade. The system works fine again and I have managed to rescue a job for a client. I guessed wronly it seems that it was an OSX upgrade problem - but the quicktime was the problem. I did try the reciepts process as described oby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA firewire deck [missing] after OSX upgrade - 17 years agoI have FCP HD 4.5. I recently uprgraded the OS to Tiger. Since the upgrade my deck ( a DSR 25) cannot be seen by the Mac. The remote control operates the tape controls on the deck - it is just that the video through the firewire cannot be seen. I'm on a powerbook using firewire 400 from the deck with two lacie f/w 800 drives for media. I have tried all the usual refresh AV devices buttons witby Jonnyukbravo - Café LA |
