Re: xml headache - 17 years agowell heck, if he only needs to super then you don't need the audio and heed Andreas Kiel's advice, he's an fcp xml geniusby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: How to stream JVC GY-HD100 to FCP - 17 years agohey Billy, you should listen to Mike and Koz, they speak the truth. yes you may be able to get uncompressed HD out of the camera, but not over firewire. cannot be done. if you have some cash to burn on this then your only possible solution on the MacBook Pro would be using a 2 slot Magma expansion chasis connected via ExpressCard/34, you'll need a PCI based HD capture card and a SATA hostby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: xml headache - 17 years agotry exporting the entire project, rather than just a sequence, see if that helps.by Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Single keypress for still capture?, need to grab 1200 stills! - 17 years agoi'd try convincing the people who are asking for this that what they really need is a contact sheet representing 1 shot every 3 or 4 seconds, regardless of where in any particular shot that falls .. they'd get a better overall picture of the pace and flow of the material, plus you could do that relatively easily using the qt_proofsheet command in qt tools: alternatively, Digital Heaven's newby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: xml headache - 17 years agoare you exporting entire projects, sequences, bins or clips? when you say "only shows the video clips (not the audio clips)" are you talking about masterclip items not showing up in the browser or items not showing up in a sequence? are you using nested sequencs anywhere in the items being exported? don't bother testing v3 xml's, they won't work with 5.0.x, stick with v2.by Andy Mees - Café LA Export Using Quicktime Conversion to AVI produces visually corrupt results - 17 years agoMovies produced by Export Using Quicktime Conversion... Format: AVI / DV - PAL are corrupt. Movies exported in this fashion can be seen to judder or skip during playback, frame by frame analysis clearly shows that this judder is due to duplicate frames being inserted and correct frames being skipped. This can clearly be demonstrated by testing for yourself with any DV - PAL QT source exportby Andy Mees - The Bug Report Re: "Range check" alters luminance level in pause mode - 17 years agoabsolutely. i've posted on the cow regarding this issue on numerous occasionsby Andy Mees - The Bug Report Re: 4 FREE FCP & Motion Filters! - 17 years agoWell they may not have all the goodness of fxplug, but here are a few filters in plain vanilla fxscript for those that may have a use for them: Peter, they don't exactly complete with the likes of MultiSpace, Rack Focus et al, so I didn't think you'd mind me piggybacking your thread ? Cheers Andyby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Google publicity issues - 17 years agohey debe my post was meant in all honesty ... apart from the first line which was obviously, i hope, meant light-heartedly i really do live in a society less plagued with these problems (i've lived in Asia for over 16 years) and whilst obviously I've heard of identity theft its never been an issue for me or anyone i know. i certainly didn't mean to trivialize the issue and i hope you didby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: 4 FREE FCP & Motion Filters! - 17 years agoI certainly will ! Thanks again. And good luck on the continuing plugin revolution ... long live the Quartzby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: 4 FREE FCP & Motion Filters! - 17 years agoNice one Peter! Especially Multispace ... I remember you teased the Cow with mention of your work on producing an old school style DVE plugin long long ago. Glad some of that work finally sees the light. Cheers Andyby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Outputting a multi track (4 track) quicktime with 4 discrete channels - 17 years agojust create your timeline with audio outputs set up and mapped the way you want them, then export > quicktime movie w/ current settings & self-contained. thats it. check the movie properties in qt player and you'll see the clip has all the audio info as exported. (the qt player itself is a 2 channle player so it will mix it all down to 2 tracks, but the audio is there nontheless)by Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Google publicity issues - 17 years agojeeez Deb ... do you realise a nefarious interloper might read that I must admit I haven't quite figured out the privacy concerns that people are expressing yet, perhaps because I live in part of the world less troubled by these problems. Nevertheless, its good to see that options exist for those who do have a need to adopt a more covert existence! I'll agree with the others who have poby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Sequence Setting By Association? - 17 years agohi Chuck you can download a 20 day free trial of SheerVideo's BitJazz codec at . for convenience the download includes a multitude of FCP easy setup presets for using the codec including capture via Kona2 and Decklink hardware. ( there are also output module teplates for AE ) the codec appears to be cross platform, and has a free player component for those who need to view the intermediatby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: HDV & Compressor - 17 years agohere is one method: (link posted by Bonsia, on Apple's FCP discussion forum)by Andy Mees - Café LA Re: OSX sleep issues / basic maintenance (clarification question) - 17 years agoWheeeee ... its a doozy of a topic. Personally, I'm in the never sleep, never off camp, its always worked for me. Ultimately your decision depends to a very great extent on your particular circumstances and needs ... when you have 30+ seats to deal with and no admin tools, then shutting them all down at night and firing them all back up in the morning can be a real pain in the proverbial.by Andy Mees - Café LA Re: Problems capturing hdv - 17 years agoApologies for the basic question, but somebody will have to ask it ... Did you actualy "Capture" the clip, or did you just "Log" it? When you use Log and Capture you can do either, or both. If you mark an In and an Out point and then press "Log Clip" then exactly what you describe will happen ... the clip will be "logged" in the Browser window but willby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: downconverting hdv - 17 years agoHi Patrick I think Tim pointed yoiu in th right direction a few posts back. It sounds like you captured your footage as letterboxed 4:3. But you have set your sequence as Anamorphic 16:9. There is nothing you can do now to make it anamorphic 16:9 without sacrificing a lot of quality quality. You have a couple of choices: 1. After that it's safe to turn off the power to the external(no ned to shut down the computer ... unless thats what you want) Hope it helps Andyby Andy Mees - Café LA Re: OT - more matrox mxo thoughts... - 17 years agodon't give up on it Tim call me in the KL center and I'll help you figure it out cheers Andyby Andy Mees - Café LA |
