Try it mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Need a How-to Burn a SMPTE Window Dub to email to the filmmakers I work with. - 19 years agoGood one Mitch. Nice tip/trick O the week. All of your questions are answered in there. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Is Mac "MADE IN THE USA"? - 19 years agoTech support for most big companies are usually outsourced to India and other countries where pay is lower than in USA. A good argument can be made against that sort of policy but this isn't a political forum so we don't argue. Mac hardware and software are designed in Cupertino CA but assembled in other countries, a common practise. Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Self contained or Not self contained movie - 19 years agoiDVD doesn't find it. That un-contained file has all the info on it, so all you need do is drop the thing into iDVD. Think of it as an alias. Y0u can dump the thing after you burn the author and burn the DVD Only reason I can ever see for using a self contained movie is if you on purpose or accidently move your media after you export your non self contained movie. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Self contained or Not self contained movie - 19 years agoNo difference in quality. I like small files so I always uncheck the make self contained box. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: capturing/editing 24p in FCP - 19 years agoIts in the manual but read this and thisby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: dropouts during FW playback + exporting - 19 years agoAlso and we keep forgetting this, no overlap of canvas and Viewer window and make sure you mixdown your audio before you export. Also make sure ther is a nice Blue line above your clips, no green.by Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Cost Efficient Setup for Digibeta? - 19 years agoDecklink or Aurora Cards will do ya fine. Both are very good. Look at their selection. Decklink is cheaper but don't discount Aurora. You can get a nice Broadcast Monitor for less than $500.00. Not highend but calibrate it and all is well. People will chime in here with brands. Cables usually come with the Capture Cards. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: General Error 34 - 19 years agoWell whatever that error is its usually because of a still with an empty layer. Or is that error 36? Hmm. Nah, think I'm right on this. Could be having an Acid flashback though. Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Director tips - 19 years agoHire a GOOD script supervisor and rely on her/him heavily. Then you can concentrate on what you do best, direct/shoot. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: General Error 34 - 19 years agoDo a search on this forum for General Error 34 Most likely due to a still pict with an empty layer. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: export audio edit for Logic Express? - 19 years agoIs this a Logic 7 issue? I didnt have problems with Logic 6 and AFF exchange the couple times I used it. Dont use Logic much I'm afraid. Could never wrap my head around it.by Michael Horton - Café LA Re: help needed! sequence getting damaged - 19 years agoI'm assuming its not your system drive also? Done a disk check with something like Disk Warrior? Done the usual cures? Trash preferences, repair permissions?by Michael Horton - Café LA Re: help needed! sequence getting damaged - 19 years agoWhere is the media? Internal drive? External? FW? ATA? And most important, how full are they?by Michael Horton - Café LA Re: help needed! sequence getting damaged - 19 years agoThese stutters happen radomly? No way the effects might be playing a part in this? You in safe mode? Got a nice blue line above your clips? mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: FCP quits trying Edit To Tape - 19 years agoI dont know. You trying to do an insert here? Why Edit to Tape? What happens if you just record to tape? Render all, and mix down, hit record on your deck and play the timeline? mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: export audio edit for Logic Express? - 19 years agoThere is an XML tool out there somewhere for Logic and FCP users but yeah, Logic doesnt quite get OMF. Errors seem to pop up all the time. Best thing to do is export/import as an AAF and use that as your data exchange. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: help needed! sequence getting damaged - 19 years agoChange the settings in your Canvas window to Fit To Window or smaller. Also restarting your Mac helps mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Title 3D Crashes FCP - 19 years agoUsually this is a case of a bad font which Title 3D is especially prone too. The problem is finding that bad font. I believe there is a utility out there that will find corrupt fonts but for like of me I cant remember what it is. Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: way to improve real time? - 19 years agoNo. Cinewave helped with their FX and it's likely in the future that we will see FX go to the GPU much like Motion, but for now, you just manage renders best you can. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: rendering Speed Effects - 19 years agoNot being a technical guy I wouldn't know, but to my eye there is no hit. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: way to improve real time? - 19 years agoConsult the manual. It has many ideas on how to manage renders Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Out of memory - 19 years agoWith OSX just let it be. I really dont think this is a memory issue despite the error you are getting. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Out of memory - 19 years agoSounds like the image wasnt prepared properly. The article I refered too above should help give you a grasp on this odd concept. This is a good one too.by Michael Horton - Café LA |
