about transitions when button is activated... - 13 years agoHi All, Lately I have been experiencing this issue with transitions. Whenever the transitions require footage/still photo overlaping, such as dissolve, or blur, the transition will first fade half way to black then transition to the next screen. So dissolve, blur and other transitions alike are not smooth at all. Mark, I just tried output to prorez 422 HQ NTSC 48, but the quality is not as good as the uncompressed AVI. I mean the difference is obvious. So I tried Prorez 4444 and it's amazing, just like if I was outputing with animation codec. what I don't understand is that 640x480 is not a big format, yet only animation, uncompressed, prorez 4444 gave the most clear picture. I have a macbook pro 15 2.4 core2duo that's hooked up to an external monitor thru DVI. I arranged the Viewer and the Canvas to be on the larger external screen so I can see the footage better. So I suppose there's no way to verify a disc if it's burned with DVDSP? about compatibility, if once the disc had been replicated does it make the hard-pressed disc more compatible? or it's going to carry all the problems with the original burnt master? a compatibility issue could mean so many things, from a problematic media to fast burn speed. I have problem with compressor quiting, and can't send files over from fcp. try all kinds of ways to uninstall reinstall. ended up wipe out the OS and reinstaby charlie909 - DVD Studio Pro DVD Burner lifespan... - 14 years agois there any software for mac to check the condition of the optical drive? or to verify a disc once it's burned? toast will verify a burn, but have to initiate the burn with toast. reason for the question being... in dvd studio pro, i've sometimes created discs that dvdsp said it was successful, but problematic once taken to replicator. when the burner was brand new, it never had such probleby charlie909 - DVD Studio Pro Re: menu button configuration - basic advice please. - 14 years agothe instruction below is debatable, because there are just too many ways to do this. When you open up the program you get to choose basic view, extended, or advanced. choose advanced, if you have the default set to other things, just go to window -> configurations, then choose advanced. after all the windows load up, you'll see on the top left hand corner under graphical tap there are two bby charlie909 - DVD Studio Pro Using Sorenson Squeeze with DVDSP (final cut studio) - 16 years agoAfter the compressor started to act funny and not able to compress anything on one of the machine (after many uninstalls and reinstall), bought Squeeze 5 pro. 700+ bucks out of the pocket. One of the main reason was that the client needed to put watermark on the existing mpeg4 and output to mpeg2 for DVD. Some of them were made long ago and the quality is not that great, but it works for me. Lynda.com is great in general; however the final cut studio series by larry jordan, i am not really a big fan of. So i am trying to make a simple stroke/ write on effect. I could see that DVD+R might be an issue, but playing back from the HD shouldn't have anything to do with the disk format and it still freeze at the point. Yes, you can put a chapter mark on the very end of the track, so it will feel like it's jumping over; but the real probelm is that you can't go back to the previous track by hitting prevoious, nor can you rewind it back. is there a way arounby charlie909 - DVD Studio Pro Re: Built was successful, but problematic playback... urgent!!! - 17 years agoanother update... The simulation was okay, and i don't really want to go back and re-encode; so i came up with this work around, and worked. It's really not a solution, but have to meet the dead line. The original m2v file was close to 4 hrs long, i broke it down into two separate tracks. One has the first half the video; the other has the second half. The video freezes at around the same time. in other words, the both dvd have about 63-65 chapter marks, and around chapter 50-53 for both video is at around 3hrs 15mins. This sort of limit how and where the problem occurs, but still i have no idea why it happened... Set the dual layer break point manully @ black frame in the middle of the disk. The main video is about close to 4 hours. I had simulated the disk, and there was no problem playing back. After built and format, with no error message, disk plays fine all the way thru chapter 52. (or Compressor is the engine) This is sort of flips me out, because i just started encoding two projects with 8 hours worth of videos with ref movies dropped into compressor 2 with 2-pass... But the main reason that i post this is because i didn't get any error message at the end of the capturing. It says the capture was successful at the end of the pop up window, where the media ends is earlier than the out point that i set. I am really curious how did that happen?
