Re: Hey Mike (LAFCPUG news letter) - 18 years agoPlease Reread my post. It gives my opinion (without sarcasm) of other alternatives Apple has. And buy the way, you will be forking out some big bucks to run FC6 if this happens unless you want to drag a stone. But yes you are correct, Apple is giving SW companies a year to get ready, but that still means your system you buy today will need replacing, not by choice but by necessity. Carrying a stone on your back to make that happen should not be forced on those who helped Apple profit. They're building a Rock alright (Rosetta stone) Just like they supported their other so called upgrades (or downgrades however you view them). History is a great teacher when it comes to Apple. Can you put up a link? Thanksby spaceman - Café LA Re: After Dual Boot - 19 years agoFYI .. To all that have helped me with my situation, IT WORKS GREAT. I think FCP4.5 under 10.3.9 & QT7 is working much faster, smoother and it appears the Canvas is highter qualiity (maybe my imagination). So thanks to all.... Post Edited (05-10-05 12:01)by spaceman - Café LA Re: After Dual Boot - 19 years agoThanks Very much for all your help ... Let me mention how much I injoyed the meeting last Tuesday in Hollywood. It's from that meeting why I want to get ready for FCP5 Prod.Studio. WITHOUT Tigar or at least until v 10.4.3 (that's Apples consistant magic rev. # where stability seems to have been all addressed. Let me see if I understand correctly; Keep FCPHD on the drive (#1) that has 10.3.4 (where it has been) and work with that when logged to that system. Install FCPHD on drive (#2) that has 10.3.9 and use that one when working on that volume. So, FCP will be installed on both drives (10.3.5 drive & 10.3.9 drive) Is that correct? Thanks, A.by spaceman - Café LA After Dual Boot - 19 years agoProceeding on my quest... I've loaded 10.3.9 on SATA #2 while keeping 10.3.5 on SATA #1. All is good (so far). FCP4.5 and the rest of the suite are on SATA #1 running 10.3.5. Question ... Should I install the suite on SATA #2 as well (2 installations), or should I run it while in 10.3.9 (sata #2) from the installed one on SATA #1 (one installation) ? The $100.00+ is not the issue, stability is... Dashboard, and the other window dressing for the masses are of little interest to me, FCP5 is not 64 bit, neither is anything else I use now, The searching is still rudimentary (no bool searches) and can be done in any version of Panther.
