I use quad intel with os 10.5.6 FCS2 and use fcp 6.0.5 on a daily basis along with dvdp sp and compressor. I have been working from a G-raid Q drive via FW 800 for my fcp project quite nicely until iby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: Magic bullet Looks not working in FCP - 15 years agosorted: on second re-install i firstly searched for anything and everything to do with MB Looks and deleted them and re-installed. all seems to work fine for now.....by FindonChrispy - Café LA Magic bullet Looks not working in FCP - 15 years agoWe have 4 machines at our facility, two quad intels that run leopard (10.5.6) QT 7.6 and FCP 6.05 and generally all is good. The other two are Dual 2.5 G5's OS 10.4.11 and QT 7.6 with FCP 6.05. All machines have Magic Bullet Looks in FCP, on the intels this works fine but on the G5's looks has a habit of playing up. When looks filter is applied all seems well until you go into the filter tabby FindonChrispy - Café LA render files going offline..... - 15 years agoHere's a funny one- got two identical Mac intels (quads 2.66) with 4gig ram,ox 10.5.6 qt 7.6 and fcp 6.0.5 Both running projects from G-RAIDs through FW800, not great but it works. Now one project, fully rendered and finished is moved to the other machine to have tops and tails made. The sequences are opened as and when they are need to be looked through but on the 2nd time of opening theby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: Making a tape - 15 years agoI had a DSR 11 that had a sony head cleaning tape played through it, after this it would capture images fine but make the most crikey-awful noise a lot like you describe. So i would be keen to know also what the issue is.....by FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: some media files went off-line? Where are the now? - 15 years agoWhere are you capturing to in the first place?by FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: Kona Card & View all frames - 15 years agoI have the issue of my kona card going offline after my machine has been switched off over night. This only started to happen after i installed a new hard drive with leopard and fsc2 on it. It even does it on the old HD, even after re-installing the right drivers it continues. The only way to wake it up i have found is to switch off the machine and pull the power cable out the back for 30 secby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: How to get a voice over to sound like its on the telephone - 15 years agoI think Music Man amps in the seventies, and possibly other amps had reverb plates in the bottom of them- lucky if you find one with the reverb still working in it though...by FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: How to get a voice over to sound like its on the telephone - 15 years agoTry using a high pass filter in either fcp or soundtrack, i have used that before with a bit of graphic equaliser to taste........by FindonChrispy - Café LA XDCAM EX to DVCAM tape..... - 15 years agoHelp! Trying to sort someone else's mess out! Please advise! I Need to get some programs that were filmed in and qt'd to XDCAM EX 1080i, off to a company that need them on tape. I have tested this by laying the XDCAM qt's onto a DV anamorphic timeline, rendering and then playing out to tape. I tried laying to tape from an XDCAM EX timeline but had problems with no audio, when using the Koby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: eSata and a G-raid Q drive - 15 years agoCheers jeff, i'll look into lit, luckily its a mac pro with a pci space free....... thanks again!by FindonChrispy - Café LA eSata and a G-raid Q drive - 15 years agoHi all, Just been given a G-Raid Q drive to work from, and connected it up via fw 800 to my intel mac and i noticed that it has an e-Sata port. I am working with HDV footage and rendering out as pro-res and wondered if and how i can use the eSata connection? Cheers, Chris.by FindonChrispy - Café LA Magic Bullet Looks problem.... - 15 years agoRunning FCP 6.05 on a Dual 2.5 G5 with OS 10.4.11, QT 7.5.5 with 4 gig of ram. I am Working on an XDCAM EX project supplied from a director on a Hard drive which is to be finished on my machine and make ready for broadcast and export the QT's. Forgot to mention that the footage also has a de-interlace filter added to each clip plus 4-5 clips with various sapphire filters...... Could there be a RAM issue here? as in too much being asked of it?by FindonChrispy - Café LA Rendering issue and stuff.... - 15 years agoSpec: mac intel quad 2.66 5gb ram, 1tb xsan server, MAC OS X 10.4.11 FCP 5.1.4 Hello! i have a colleague who is working with an HDV sequence in the native codec. Now we are unable to work in pro-res or xdcam forvarious reasons and the native codec has been ok so far. His sequence has become very complex with numerous filters added to the clips. Some of which are Magic Bullet ones. Heby FindonChrispy - Café LA XDCAM agiain...... - 15 years agoRight here goes! Working with XDCAM EX for the first time and am being sent the media on a Hard drive to work on tomorrow. The Footage data has been converted so it can be edited in FCP 6.05 now here-in lies my question... Do i need the original camera data (the MP4 files and all the rest of it) or can i be sent just the QT versions converted by the sony(?) software? it seems like a hugby FindonChrispy - Café LA The joys of XDCAM EX.... - 15 years agoRighto here goes.... Our office has taken in some work from another director which is all shot using the sony ex1 and shot in xdcam. The director brought round a hard drive with the project data on and we installed the sony software required, from sony's website (final cut pro/XDCAM transfer v.2..8.0) but were unable to view the footage as it was all offline. Size isnt too much of an issue as everything ends up stored on g-raids any way. the san is purely for holding the projects and capture stuff on and working from. We do tend to qt fx piecs and transiton fx to ease things on the main sequence (bakinby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: this ain't right surely.......! - 15 years agoI just checked it is SAN..... 31gb that would be the overall size of the render files for it under pro res?by FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: this ain't right surely.......! - 15 years agoSorry matey i mis-read your post, was burning my tongue on chicken soup at the time. as i put in a post before i have 914 gb free on the drive that everything comes from and goes to and 386 gb free on my system drive so thats not an issue at all. What i would worry about is if i set this seqeunce and the 5 others i have after it to render as pro res would there be much memory left on the servby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: this ain't right surely.......! - 15 years agoIts all well and good suggesting pro-res, i forgot to mention the server has up to 2-3 projects running from it at any one time or are stored on there waiting to be worked on. So space for pro-res is very very limited... its not my euipment either...... so i am working with what i have and is available...... I would love to be working with pro-res, i'd be able to use color then!by FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: this ain't right surely.......! - 15 years agoThanks guys! The only problem we have with using pro-res is drive space, we run the video and store on a 2TB server and have been advised that although pro-res would be great is a no-go for us. currently it has 914 gb free so thats not the prob. When it crashed on me a second ago i took the time out to read the log and this popped out at me: Thread 62 Crashed: 0 com.redgiantsoftware.lby FindonChrispy - Café LA Re: this ain't right surely.......! - 15 years agooh yes and as i was cancelling it to save it came up with the File I/O error....... any ideas? many thanks.....!by FindonChrispy - Café LA |
