Agenda (Subject to change)

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew Balis, Philip Hodgetts and TBA as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:40PM - exceLogger and Metadata Explorer - Philip Hodgetts
World debut of 2 new tools you need to see.
Metadata Explorer does two things:  in the (free) demo form it let's you look at that hidden metadata and (optionally) save it out to an excel spreadsheet. Pay for the application and you can map the hidden metadata to editable FCP fields, so that it can be used inside FCP.
exceLogger
Smarter logging is easier logging: unlock the power of Excel for Final Cut Pro Logging.
Maybe the reason your'e not logging is because it's too hard in FCP?
exceLogger let's you use the power of Microsoft Excel to log already captured clips. With exceLogger you export clips (as a Batch List) to Excel, and an XML file of your FCP project.
In Excel, add logging information and create new subclips until you're done.
Process in exceLogger with the XML file to merge the data. Clips are created, or updated, with the new information. Newly created clips are automatically linked to the media in FCP.

7:45PM - 8:05PM - Mocha for Final Cut Pro - Jan Lucas
mocha for Final Cut is a stand alone 2D tracking and rotoscoping tool designed for the Final Cut Studio community. It is packed with features that help editors and VFX artists tackle more complex jobs and enable them to finish projects within Final Cut.
Tracking
mocha for Final Cut generates solid 4-point tracks based on Imagineer's unique Planar Tracking technology, giving position, scale, rotation, shear and perspective matched tracks and exports the data to Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express as XML files.
Rotoscoping
mocha for Final Cut can export mocha shape data, allowing rotoscoping shapes with variable, per-point edge feathering to be imported into Final Cut. Combined with mocha shape FxPlug for Final Cut, users now have the ability to isolate color correction and effects within the Final Cut timeline!

8:10PM - 8:30PM - Fresno - Steve Payne
Fresno is a sweet little movie about foreclosures, Fresno and skateboarding. Director/Editor Steve Payne will share clips and tips and tricks on the making of this documentary which just debuted in Fresno a week ago.

8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
In the lobby will be CalDigit showing off their storage solutions. Also Veescope Live will be in lobby. Also JLCooper will be in the lobby showing off thier awesome control surfaces. Also Footagehead.com. Also lafcpug meeting sponsor MelroseMac will be in lobby answering all your questions and hopefully showing off new toys. And Pizza from Chef Jeff Stansfield

The break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lafcpug. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

9:00PM - 9:30PM - MXO2 - Shane Ross and Gabriel Mitri
Shane Ross and Matrox's Gabriel Mitri will demonstrate the new Matrox MXO2 MAX. They will show off the flexible I/O capabilities within the FCP workflow, as well as the new Faster-Than-Real-Time H.264 encoder built right into the box. They will show you how you can drastically cut down H.264 encoding times for Blu-Ray, the web and mobile devices using Compressor. Matrox will also give away a MXO2 Mini Max as part of the World Famous Raffle.

9:30PM - 9:40PM - The Octo Circus - Ross Martin - Show and Tell
"The Octo Circus" is an Octo-Mom spoof jam-packed with clowns, props and gags.

9:40PM - 9:50PM - Take 1 TV - Simei Pulu - Show and Tell
The little rough piece I want to show will be a 10 minute part of a larger half-hour show that I produce. I want to get a feel from the audience, since none of this has aired yet.
The show theme/concept is entertainment, art, fashion, lifestyle, and music ALL relating to the Gothic/Industrial/Black Metal/Punk/Fetish/Bondage sub-culture.
Take1 TV (T1TV) produces other content relating to more mainstream southern California lifestyle - entertainment, fashion, art, music, etc, links below. The content mentioned above is for a NEW show under development. So, again, I want to get a feel from the audience.
