Also, Action Editing Part 2
As some of you remember, last July 2017 editor Evan Schiff joined us to "show and tell" about editing the action movie John Wick: Chapter 2. It was a hugely popular meet. So we decided to bring him back, only this time to interview and honor editor Elisabet Ronaldsdóttir about her work on John Wick and Atomic Blonde among others. So welcome to Action Editing Chapter 2.
NOTE: lacpug generally meets every 4th Wednesday of the Month. Meetings are open to public and ALL, beginning through advanced Digital Story Tellers are welcome. Digital projection made possible through the generous sponsorship of Adobe Systems, DVCreators, DigitalFilm Tree, OWC, VES and members like you. lacpug meetings are presented in association with the Barnsdall Gallery Theater, a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
Agenda (subject to change and availability)
6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus Patrick Southern, Michael Kammes Monica Daniel, and Adam Bedford as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning Resolve and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:45PM - Lumberjack Builder - Philip Hodgetts
Philip will be premiering Lumberjack Builder, a brand new, text-driven NLE, because existing NLEs are not good at working with transcription. Instead of creating scripts from transcripts in a text editor, with a painful manual conform required, Builder works directly with your clips to edit video and audio with the text. In both metadata creation and story building, while you work with text, you are building your story edit. Once complete, the story edit goes direct to FCP X for editors to work their magic on, with no conform required.
About Philip Hodgetts
PHILIP HODGETTS is an expert in content metadata, particularly how it is applied to derive production metadata in post workflows for organization and pre-editing, with a history in knowledge system development.
