Also "FOCUS" editor Jan Kovac will be joined by Shot Notes X developer Kevin Bailey. They will show how they updated the FOCUS workflow with Sync-n-link and how they incorporated Shot Notes X.

Plus more.

If you are at all interested in the latest from the world of FCP X, then this is the meet you want to come too.

Why was there no meeting in March and what the heck are you talking about?
Find out here.

Agenda (subject to change)

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join Gurus
Monica Daniel, Philip Hodgetts Michael Kammes and Adam Bedford as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:25PM - Announcements
If we have time, this is your time. Get up and tell us something about yourself. Ask for a job, offer a job. Whatever you want. Keep it brief

7:30PM - 8:25PM - FCP X 10.2 and Shared Storage - Sam Mestman
We welcome back Sam Mestman, Workflow Architect - FCPWORKS. Sam will demo FCP X in a shared storage environment. Sam will also demo and take questions about the new features in FCP X 10.2

About Sam Mestman
Sam Mestman has worked for Apple, ESPN, “Glee,” and
Break.com, to name a few, and is now the Chief Workflow Architect for Lumaforge.  He’s also a regular writer for MovieMaker Magazine, teaches post workflow at RED’s REDucation classes, and specializes in saving independent producers tens of thousands of dollars while delivering a top quality product.  He is also the founder and CEO of We Make Movies, which in just three years might have become the largest film collective in Los Angeles (and now Toronto).

8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
This is your chance to ask questions. No questions? Then talk to each other. The break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lacpug Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

9:00PM - 9:50PM - How FOCUS Did It - Jan Kovac Kevin Bailey
"FOCUS" editor Jan Kovac will be joined by Shot Notes X developer Kevin Bailey. They will show how they updated the FOCUS workflow with Sync-n-link and how they incorporated Shot Notes X.

About Jan Kovac
Jan Kovac was born in the Czech Republic and graduated from Prague’s Charles University with a degree in Film Journalism. Realizing he had more of an interest in working in film than writing about it, Jan moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at UCLA to study editing. Kovac honed his editing skills by working on the syndicated and international versions of HBO’s hit series, “The Sopranos,” “Six Feet Under,”  and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” among others.  By re-editing these successful series, Kovac learned how to interpret and honor different directing and writing styles that enriched his visual story-telling skills.  Focus is his first feature film.

About Kevin Bailey
Kevin Bailey has been working in picture editorial, sound editorial, and visual effects for fifteen years. While living in the Bay Area he worked with the Bay Area’s premier film makers at American Zoetrope, Skywalker Sound, and with many independent filmmakers.  As an assistant editor he developed automated workflows which later lead to the creation of
Shot Notes X.  Kevin now lives in LA working as an assistant editor and developing apps for filmmakers. More about Kevin at IMDB
