7:00PM - 7:30PM - FCP X Meta Data and Media Managment - Philip Hodgetts
In Final Cut Pro X, metadata is everywhere. It manages your media, helps you organize and find Clips and reveals all the information from the camera. These are powerful new concepts and Philip Hodgetts will break them down and explain that, while the concepts are different, you can do everything you've wanted to do, a whole lot easier, faster and with less hassle.
7:30PM - 8:00PM - Color Corrrection and Effects - Larry Jordan
Final Cut Pro X changes the way effects are created. Gone are the Control, Motion and Filter tabs. They are replaced with a series of Browsers - for Media, Effects, Text, Generators, and others. In his presentation this evening, Larry Jordan explains how to create effects inside FCP X - what the changes are and how the new tools work. There is a lot of power in these new effects, come take a look and judge for yourself.
8:00PM - 8:30PM - Editing and Trimming - Michael Wohl
Michael Wohl will show us how to do professional-style editing in FCP; backtiming edits, 3-point editing, split edits, precision trimming, using auditions, etc. He may also point out some of the less-obvious-but-still-very-serious deficiencies of the new app.
8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
In the lobby will be many FCS Gurus. This is your chance to ask questions. No questions? Then talk to each other. The break is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved and who knows, get a job. You never know who you are going to meet at lafcpug. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
9:00PM - 10:00PM - Final Cut Pro X Q and A and Feedback- Philip Hodgetts, Michael Wohl, Larry Jordan
This is your chance to get your questions answered and also provide feedback. We will go as long we can. No rants, nor raves, just questions and feedback.
