9:00PM - 9:30PM - A whole bunch of Little Known Avid Media Composer Tricks - Steve Kanter
Steve shares some of the lesser-known tips and tricks he’s picked up over 20 years of editing with Avid Media Composer. Basically, it’s all the stuff you don’t know you don’t know.

About Steve Kanter
Steve Kanter is a professional freelance editor whose early career mirrored the evolution of editing itself. He went from working as an assistant editor in a film cutting room, to seeing his first Avid Media Composer as a Post Production Supervisor for ABC/Disney’s Dinosaurs, to editing on a Media Composer himself for shows distributed via television and this new platform called... the Internet... in just six short years.

20 years later, Steve has evolved into an editor/trainer hybrid, splitting his time between working as a freelance editor and finisher as well as an onsite trainer and consultant for clients ranging from ABC to TMZ. (A semi-complete listing of clients can be found here.)

In 2012 he joined the faculty at UCLA as a Visiting Professor for the School of Theater, Film and Television, and created their first graduate level course in editing with Avid Media Composer
Currently Steve works as a finisher for ABC and also for Avid as a trainer and consult

9:30PM - 9:45PM - "FREE" - Danielle Dawson - Show and Tell
Free is a series of vignettes where polarizing individuals strive to define their version of freedom or lack thereof.

About Danielle Dawson
Danielle Dawson is a freelance director and filmmaker. She did not attend film school and is an advocate of guerilla style filmmaking. She started working as a Production Assistant in 2012 and has since worked on independent films, music videos, and features.
