Join Gurus Adam Bedford, Michael Kammes, Monica Daniel and Steve Kanter they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.
7:20PM - 7:50PM - Still Screaming: Cutting a Horror Documentary - Monica Daniel.
Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective is a feature documentary about the Scream films that was released by Miramax/Lionsgate on the Blu-Ray release of the Scream Trilogy Boxed Set. With the use of timelines and clips, I will go over creative workflows for the documentary and techniques used to enhance the visual aesthetic of the coverage. I will show before and after timelines to demonstrate how the story evolved through the editing process and talk about collaborating with the director.
About Monica Daniel
Monica is an Editor and Colorist based in Los Angeles. She has worked for several networks including SyFy, Starz, BBC America, E!, G4 and A&E Bio, to name a few. In addition to Television, she has also worked on independent features that have been released by Miramax, Lionsgate and Anchor Bay Entertainment. She is also currently working on Scripted Projects for That Studio. She enjoys sharing her knowledge by giving presentations about her work, as well as writing a blog about editing; monicaedits.tumblr.com. You can follow her on twitter at @monica_edits. And just for fun, Monica produces, edits and Co-Hosts an industry podcast called Going Postal Show where she interviews some of the top editors in the industry. About Mike Matzdorff
Mike is a writer, director, editor, assistant editor and has composed the score for one indie film and a stage play. He has spent over 20 years in editing rooms of feature films and Emmy winning television shows, including, Fight Club, Analyze This, Last Comic Standing and Monk. He recently finished, as first assistant editor, the first major film edited on Apple's Final Cut X software and is writing a book on the experience loaded with real world tips, tricks, and proven workflow techniques.

About Fabienne Bouville
Fabienne grew up in France, but has spent most of her adult years in the U.S. She started her career in photojournalism, which led her to making and editing documentaries, which led to narratives, and film school at NYU. Soon after graduating, she moved to LA in 2002 where she rebooted her career as an editor, starting in reality tv and then narrative. The past 2 years she has enjoyed splitting her time between editing Masters of Sex and American Horror Story.
About Blake Maniquis
Blake Maniquis has edited both TV (Masters of Sex, Helix) and features (Backmask, Area 51) after working with many influential editors in pressured cutting rooms. He studied literature at Berkeley and started as an apprentice on film, splicing together the cuts that Anne V. Coates made on the moviola for the film In The Line of Fire. Working in television with the gifted writers of Masters of Sex feels like a return to literature, but I am keenly interested in keeping my foot in the door of the feature world, where the editor supervises the process all the way through to the end.
About John Caldwell
John Caldwell is an Assistant Editor and Animation Editor. He has done Assistant work for television (Masters of Sex) and features (Area 51, Growth). He worked as a previs editor for 3 years on various films including Hercules: The Thracian Wars, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Iron Man 3 and Total Recall..He went to school at Video Symphony in Burbank and started his career working for eight months as an unpaid production assistant. He loves assisting and one day hopes to be a television editor.
About Rebekah Parmer
Rebekah Parmer is a California native who has been working as an Assistant Editor/ Editor for the past few years. She enjoys all genres of filmmaking, but finds a special bond with psychological thrillers and horror films. Rebekah is looking forward to a long career in post production and hopes to only retire when she can no longer see the Avid.
About Gena Fridman
Gena Fridman has been working as an assistant editor/editor for the past few years. Although his path was not a traditional one. He worked in finance for many years before deciding to get into post production. He truly enjoys all aspects of post production and works in both Television and Commercials. He is currently assistant editing on Masters of Sex.

Enter through the gate on Hollywood Blvd just West of Berendo. The theater is at the top of the hill, adjacent to the art gallery.
From US 101 (heading South),
take the Hollywood Boulevard exit.
Turn left at the end of the exit ramp onto Hollywood Boulevard.
Turn right into the entrance to Barnsdall Art Park at 4800 Hollywood Boulevard. (you will only see a parking lot. Drive to top of hill to find the Gallery Theater)
The Gallery Theater is in the center of the park.
From US 101 (heading North),
take the Vermont Avenue exit.
Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Vermont Avenue.
Turn left onto Hollywood Boulevard.
Turn left into the entrance to Barnsdall Art Park at 4800 Hollywood Boulevard. (you will only see a parking lot. Drive to top of hill to find the Gallery Theater)

Metro Red Line
Yes, Los Angeles has a subway and if possible you ought to use it. Riders are dropped of at Sunset and Vermont, one long block from the Art Park. More info on the Red Line can be found here.
PARKING: Parking is FREE. There is ample parking on top of hill near the Art Park. Parking extends around the perimeter of the Park. NOTE: Please park your car diagonally even though the spaces are not marked that way. What to do if I cant find a place to park?
Park at the Kaiser Hospital Parking lot. Download directions HERE - or...
1. Turn right on Hollywood Blvd
2. Turn right on Vermont Ave
3. Turn right on Sunset Blvd.
4. Turn right into Kaiser Parking Structure
5. Park on rooftop
6. Take elevator down to Level 2
7. Exit at Parking Entrance on Barnsdall Ave.
8. Cross Street to Barnsdall Park
9. Use Stair or elevator to Park
10. Climb stairs and follow signs to Gallery Theatre
11. Cost is $4.00 (I think) And security is provided.
Wheelchair access: Park in the lot next to the Hollyhock house (you will see a handicap parking sign), come into the theatre entrance, and take the elevator down. There will be space in the front of the theatre for wheelchairs.
Before or after the meeting, there is a fine restaurant row on Vermont between Hollywood and Franklin (just around the corner from the park). There are also a number of funky ethic eateries along Hollywood Blvd.
