i have a client who wants to see first-frame thumbnails printed out of his vast folder of movies.

i tried adobe bridge, and it does great on screen. but for whatever reason, it doesnt seem to have a print function.

do any of you guys know of a catalog/archival software that might do it?

I'm using Final Print by Digital Heaven. It can generate thumbnails from XML files.

Only problem is, you would have to import all those movies into FCP to generate the XML file. If he has a bunch of odd formats that FCP won't read (mp4s, wmv, mpegs) then you'll be SOL.

Wayne,

You might look into Final Cut Server as I understand it does allow for printing. I do not have it, however, but have seen the demo.

I have previously opened QT files in Photoshop CS3 using "Make Tearsheet" under automation... but then tried it last week and it didn't work. Not sure why.

There is a slick little command line tool called "QT_Tools" ... see this thread for more:
