Simple question. I need to export a movie so that it can be burnt to a DVD on a PC. Which settings do I use? Currently getting an FCP Movie which is obviously no good. Thanks, Chris R

Should we start guessing what format you're working in?

Nothing wrong with exporting a QuickTime Movie if the file has the .mov suffix and the PC has the playback codec.

I am working in FCP 5.04 - DV PAL anamorphic. When I export to quick time movie and add a .mov suffix PC says QT player won't read it. Do I need to export Quicktime Conversion and if so what settings for max quality? CR

assuming that you mean to burn to a DVD-Video - one that will play on a set top box;
it depends on what program you're using to create the DVD.

Hate to say it, but consult the documentation.

If it's a professional authoring software like Encore, then you can probably export using compressor to create standard MPEG-2 and AC3 files. This is better then letting the authoring program do it because you at least have some 'control' over the compression quality rather then letting the burning software just 'handle it'
