Is there a way to tell how many items are in a bin?Posted by Joe Riggs
I don't know of any way to get a count of the number of items in a bin - possibly a dummy batch recapture? I'm not sure why this would be required though, so not very surprised.
And you can just hit option d to duplicate a bin and its contents. Although AFAIK really you're not making new versions, just new copies of links to the same media.
Nope you can duplicate anything in FCP7 Browser using: option-d The option key is labelled "alt" For instant answers to more than one hundred common FCP questions, check out the LAFCPUG FAQ Wiki here : [www.lafcpug.org]
it could have been Apple D (Command D) and correlate to the other finder commands (Apple C, apple V etc)
but Apple D was given to De-Select All in early versions of FCP. after a while De-select All was shifted over to Shift Apple A (from memory) that was also the year they introduced the mappable keyboard, so i just mapped it back. Apple D is still clear so if you prefer, you can map Duplicate to that. icon view can occasionally be cool for looking at clips, but bins? only for a clip count. nick
for many reasons, (and this seems a legitimate one) i prefer to sync my rushes in a timeline.
other reasons are i just don't trust auto syncing by TC. if i can do it, i will, but rather than merging in the browser i will do it in a timeline where i can check the sync by eye before i link picture and sound. nick
