Re: OT: Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple - 12 years agoJust read it on Yahoo. I don't get it.by Adage12 - Café LA Re: H.264 taking too long - 12 years agoSorry, 17' MBP, 4 gig Ram. I tried both, FCP and Compressor. I also tried a self contained QT export. I tried Compressor as well. Also, just for testing, I brought in some old DV footage cut it down to 2:10 and same thing up to 50 minutes for an h.264. I then cut it down to a 1:10 and it went down to 35 minutes. Thanks'by Adage12 - Café LA H.264 taking too long - 12 years agoHi: My project was 1920 1080 ProrRes 422, going to the web. The TRT of the video was 2:10. It was taking more than 50 minutes for an h.264. I finally decided to use Media Ecnoder and it did the job in 8 minutes. Any ideas what could take so long? Thanks'by Adage12 - Café LA Re: Betting Everything on FCP X - 12 years agoAndy Mees Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > C'mon Adage, it's really hardly surprising that a > company that runs a business based entirely or in > some part on building and selling Motion Templates > is going to have some motivation for making a case > for FCP X regardless. > > That said, I think CrumplePop's products are > great,by Adage12 - Café LA - X Betting Everything on FCP X - 12 years agoDon't know if it will be true or not in a year, but they do make a case for FCP X.by Adage12 - Café LA - X Re: Fascinating: Is Apple responding through David Pogue? - 12 years agostrypes Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have my avid shortcuts that are heavily > modified to make the transition from FCP pretty > seamless. Let me know if you want it. Its FCP 7 and MC for me. Can I get in on the shortcuts? I still hope that Apple will LISTEN and make the changes.by Adage12 - Café LA - X Re: Randy U says... - 12 years agoJon Chappell Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This whole situation shows that Apple doesn't > understand the realities of the post production > industry. Yes. And thats very surprising. I am all for a move to the future but Apple (Where tech meets liberal arts) should know that tape is here for some time. Can it?by Adage12 - Café LA Low Data Rate - 12 years agoThese are my MBP specs which I have with me for this gig as I am out of town. 250 g Seagate Freeagent (Desktop) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 Memory: 4 GB NVIDIA GeForce 9400M I purchased a NEX VG10. It shoots at 24mbps. I have the correct settings on the camera (I have quadrupled checked that) so it shoots at 24 mby Adage12 - Café LA Re: OT: NEX VG10/FCP - 13 years agoThx for the info. I really like the price of this camera for the features it offers. I use ShotputPro from time to time. But I can just use log and capture and it will ingest in prores since the main use of this camera will be to collect b-roll. I notice it doesn't have an XLR output but I can use an XLR adapter. Any idea of the sound quality from an XLR? Thx.by Adage12 - Café LA OT: NEX VG10/FCP - 13 years agoI have been using HVX 200 for some time now. But some of my upcoming work is requiring me to use DSLR. I came across a NEX VG10 by Sony which, by price comparison is much cheaper and seems to do the job. Just wondering if anyone here has used this and what's their opinion. Even though its AVCHD, any special cautions/precautions with FCP?by Adage12 - Café LA Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoJust saw the presentation and its very iMovie and Garageband like. I hope they will make some changes and make it a true pro app. Or its FCP7 or wait till MC 6 with 64 bit support.by Adage12 - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoAccording to Larry Jordan too many questions are to be answered. There might be quiet a few changes made before the official launch. I think the interesting thing would be to see how Adobe and Avid are viewing the whole situation.by Adage12 - Café LA - X Re: Supermeet updates - 13 years agoThx Jude, quintessential, on twitter, is saying he is losing interest in "iFCP"by Adage12 - Café LA - X Re: Hi everyone - is there a surefire way to... - 13 years ago"Remove Advanced Pulldown" is the way to go. Overall it seems a great management tool.by Adage12 - News and Announcements Re: Swamp People Trailer...How did they do that? - 13 years agoI think Red Giant has a physics time freeze plugin, I can`t remember if it was for Smoke, AE or FCP but that can do the job. Wow Spike is now called Nashville Network???by Adage12 - Café LA Re: OT: Fonts - 13 years ago"DaFont" and "1001" are my usual suspects, specially "DaFont". They are so usual I thought it would be a known fact. But "free Mac fonts" is cool. Thanks'by Adage12 - Café LA OT: Fonts - 13 years agoDoes anyone know a good font site, free or paid? I know the ususal suspects and they all have the same stuff. If there are any new sites or any other alternatives please post. I am in desperate need of some new fonts. HDV is ususally very slowby Adage12 - Café LA Re: OT: FCP Certification - 13 years agoThanks' Tom. I went to Weynand's site. Whats the name of the book? So there are 2 levels? Then I become certified? Or would I have to post on my resume "Level 1 certified" if I only complete that?by Adage12 - Café LA OT: FCP Certification - 13 years agoHow do you become FCP certified? I see a lot of training sites. Apple has a course on its site as well. I want to know, if I want to be FCP certified, do I HAVE to go through a training course? Or can my experience be a pre req? is there an oral/written exam what's the exam procedure? Thanks'by Adage12 - Café LA Re: THE NEW MACBOOK PRO'S ARE HERE!! THE NEW MACBOOK PRO'S ARE HERE!! - 13 years agoNice. Thunderbolt is a great leap. I just hope they have better screen protection. My year old 17" MacBook Pro always has these dirt patches that I am sick of cleaning all the time. Some of them are just there. Will take it take it to a Genius since its still protected.by Adage12 - Café LA |
