Re: Motion vs Efter Effects for "Ken Burns" - 17 years agoDon't do that! One rich scan should work for both offline and online. Set a render control setting at 50% for the offline animation. We're thinking of tailoring purely WMV disks forby Loren Miller - Café LA Re: Motion vs Efter Effects for "Ken Burns" - 17 years agoNick - Motion is probably not going to work if they have to pass this stuff on to other editors, but I'm interested to hear it has some cool moco and I wish I could try it out, but I'm locked out unbtil I get a Quad or intel box. AE is great, but very rich for such a simple task. You can moco natively, as covered here. I do it all the itme, and those velocity handles work. When I installed my upgrade to Studio I plugged in totally new SN's... and that should have been included. Akamai is well known for it; they service Apple. Fasrt streaming servers usually cost dough, though. Unless the recently trashed network neutrality legislation is totally crushed and suddenly we have greedy cable-like internet tiers of service. H264 is cool. You can generate a couple of formats, for slow and fast bandwidth. But features wll be a slow download for a while, no way aorund that. Now I get this oddball message when I try to render Boris titles. I also upgraded Boris for FCP 5.1, uh-oh. Think I'll step into those titles for a minute. Tby Loren Miller - Café LA Re: imported photos - 17 years agoDon't import it to a DV sequence and export it as a DV QuickTime-- that's going to reduce your resolution immediatly to 72 PPI and only 720 pixels wide. If you want a movie sequence yet want to avoid that 5:1 compression, bring your high-rez photos into a high-def sequence, like DVCPro 1280 X 720 or or full HD 1920 X 1080, uncompressed 8-bt as mentioned. We had a second camera which was hi def and could shoot 24 fps but the student didn't know how to do that and, unbeknownst to us, shot at 30 fps. Which means you *do* want 720 X 480. The ZU1 excels at live downconvert via deice-controlled FireWire. Even gives you anamorphic if you like. Never seen this, but I never dissolve to slug unless I need to fill a gap in prep for nesting and global timecode application. Have you tried dissolving to "air"-- that is, no slug? Have you tired dissolving to a color matt clip? Ultimately your best workaround might be to simply ramp opacity to zero. Does the master come up in the viewer? I have seen this sort of behavior on a 24P-to 29.97 feature project orginally from HDCAM, started in FCP 3.x and restored in FCP 4.5. Random, unasked-for clips came in during the recapture. Drove us crazy and the only solution was hand-recapturing the right clips. FCP team wantedby Loren Miller - Café LA |
