Re: FCP 7.0.1 is out - 14 years agoQuote?Fixes an issue where video material at 2048x1080 and 2048x1556 frame sizes would show a color shift. Only $100 more than a 30" ACD. Might be niby JustinB - Café LA Re: Avid For Final Cut Editor - 14 years agoThanks everybody for all the info in this thread. I'm finally getting down to seriously learning AVID and all the advice is very helpful. FYI, the MC4 trial is now 30 days, as opposed to 14, which will be nice.by JustinB - Café LA Re: Batch clip rename within FCP? - 14 years agoNick Meyers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > not that $60 will break the bank, > but there are cheaper options to QuicKeys. > (i don't know the names) It would be pretty tough to beat Quickeys slick GUI and superhero/Command icon. But I just downloaded Quickeys 4 and I'm going to give it a go. If it reliably saves me time I'll gladly plonk down the $60. So far I've been: 1) merging in the browser, 2) adding ins and outs to to isolate the picture from overhanging audio 3) bringing them all down into a sequence, 4) then adjusting syncby JustinB - Café LA Batch clip rename within FCP? - 14 years agoOK, here's something that's been bothering me for a while. There doesn't seem to be a way to batch rename clips in FCP. Is there a plugin out there that could help? I Google for it every so often without any luck. ATM I'm dealing with tons of "... Merged" files. Merge certainly helps speed up the syncing process greatly (assuming TC is good,) but it's a bit of a drag having to go thoby JustinB - Café LA Re: Adding Chapter Markers At Every Edit - 14 years agoWell this looks pretty nice. Ken Stone talks about the Share option in FCP 7, and notes that multiple items can be sent together with chapter markers added! QuoteThere is another way to select for Share. In the Browser you can select a single clip and Share. You can also select multiple clips in the Browser and after you select Share, you will be presented with a dialog box. Nope. Still just 32-bit. Pretty awkward for Apple. Speaking of awkward... One potentially confusing point about Snow Leopard - by default it boots 32-bit kernel on all machines (even 64-bit ones) exby JustinB - Café LA Re: Upcoming QT 10 and FCS 3? - 14 years agoSnow Leopard available this Friday. My understanding was that FCP adjusted the preview video gamma to compensate for the default Mac gamma. As benign as that happens to be, wouldn't it be effected by Snow Leopard's 2.2 gamma?by JustinB - Café LA Re: Upcoming QT 10 and FCS 3? - 14 years agoI'm sure Apple has thought this all out ahead of time. If they can get us from one totally different processor architecture to another relatively painlessly, finding a way to go from QuickTime 7 to QuickTime 10 shouldn't be a problem. Maybe FCS 2009 doesn't need QT Pro? Maybe it will work with only QT X? Maybe we'll be able to download QT for years to come? I don't know, but I'm guessing we'llby JustinB - Café LA Re: Upcoming QT 10 and FCS 3? - 14 years agoFrom what I've read, when upgrading to Snow Leopard it will keep QT 7 around if you have a Pro license registered. I'm assuming this is was a consideration for us FCS users. If you install 10.6 fresh, QT 7 is an optional install. I have a friend who's redesigning his site. The designer wants to go Flash for web video playback. The problem we don't otherwise work with Flash, so when there are new trailers/promo video to go on the site, we'd have to figure out a solution to get the video to .flv.
