Re: Importing P2 clips- jerky - 16 years agoAn apple care doc said that my older system may not have enough memory or ram to view the high def previews properly. BUt its strange that I could view them perfectly yesterday? Anything I can do to allocate more ram or memory to the P2 preview window? Also, do you think Raylight will work better? I see that recommended a lot. Thanks so much and please respond! Jenniferby jenvery - Café LA Importing P2 clips- jerky - 16 years agoHI! I have FCP Studio, the last version of FCP not the newest, and a G4. I have been importing P2 clips successfully for awhile but today when I went under File>Import>PanasonicP2, when I am in the P2 preview window the clips don't play well. They keep stopping and acting weird, but when I import a clip into FCP from there, once I am back in FCP the clip plays fine in the browser and inby jenvery - Café LA Re: hi 8 deck needed - 16 years agoDoes the camera work on all tapes? I heard there are some strange tapes that only work on the camera they were shot on? I bought a camera once from WalMart and the tape wouldnt show when played. Did the tapes work in your camera? Thanks Jenby jenvery - Café LA hi 8 deck needed - 16 years agoHi all! Does anyone have a hi-8 deck that they no longer have use for and may want to sell? Let me know! Thanks, Jenniferby jenvery - Café LA Re: How to export a 16x9 still from an hd sequence - 16 years agoThank you that worked! I finally got around to trying it as the client wanted higher resolution stills, so that great. Also, how do I set up a Photoshop Action? Thanks a ton! Jenby jenvery - Café LA How to export a 16x9 still from an hd sequence - 16 years agoHi again! I also wondered how to export a still from an hd dvcpro sequence that would maintain its 16x9 shape. When I export a still the regular way it always looks squished. The only way I could get it to work was to export the whole movie through compressor to a 640x360 movie and then with Quicktime player I could export a jpeg at the right size and shape. Just wondered if there was a way tby jenvery - Café LA iDVD menu into fcp movie - 16 years agoHI! Does anyone know how to get my iDVD menus or DVDSP menus into a FCP sequence, so I can show some examples of work I have done. I have seen other people show these in videos but I am not sure how to do this. Thank you for any help! Jenniferby jenvery - Café LA How to show Button Inspector while making button over video - 16 years agoHI! I am trying to make a button over video subtitle clip. I am following the directions from the Aple manual. But when I select the button in the subtitle clip the usual button inspector doesnt come up, only the subtitle inspector which has a button tab but it doesnt have as many options as the button inspector, and the manual assumes you are in the button inspector. Any ideas? Thanks so muby jenvery - DVD Studio Pro DVD@ccessRe: Interactive CDs- Any alternatives to director - 16 years agoHi again! I was wondering if you or anyone had tried making an interactive DVD with using DVDSP and that DVD@CCEss option? I guess it can link to websites, email, and files you put on the DVD? Let me know if you think that might work? Thanks, Jenby jenvery - Café LA Re: Interactive CDs- Any alternatives to director - 16 years agoThanks! I do have Adobe Flash. I didnt know it could make interactive CDs. I just use it to convert videos to Flash video. Does it have the program to make the CD work or do you need another program? I would love a program like Autoplay that is for windows, it has templates and buttons and lots of stuff premade and no coding. I just feel like I will faint over if I have to learn another progby jenvery - Café LA Interactive CDs- Any alternatives to director - 16 years agoHi! I am searching all over for the best and easiest program to make interactive CDs. I found a neat program called AutoPlay but it only works on Windows : (. Director MX2004 looks like the standard but very complicated and no premade stuff and seems old. Shouldnt there be a new one since 2004?! Any suggestions for a great Mac product for making interactive CDs? Thank you sooooo much! jenby jenvery - Café LA Re: LiveType Tutorial DVDs - 16 years agoI just wanted more tutorials. More step by step instruction on how to do different cool titles. Something like that book on Photoshop called Killer Tips would be great for LiveType. Jenniferby jenvery - Café LA LiveType Tutorial DVDs - 16 years agoHi all! I have the LiveType Powerstart DVD which is great but I wondered if there are any newer tarining DVDs out there for LiveType? Thanks, jenby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoAny comments on which is better for encoding flash Episode Pro or Flix8 Pro from On2 video? Thanks Jenby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoI forgot to say, click on the Camp link at the top to see the newest video encode, and the other links at the top are previous attempts at encoding or compressing, many with letterboxing that looks strange with a black background!by jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoWell, I have got some good results using compressor with h.264 and making the size 640x360, now there is no more letterboxing, yea! You can check out my new and old attempts on my site: Please send me any feedback. I will let you know if I have any successful Flash encodes. Does Episode Pro do a better job then the Flash program? I already paid $1499 or something for CS3! Thanks forby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoI actually bought that last night! I think it was actually $4.50. It is helpful but I wish it would take certain examples and go step by step from FCP to the end. But I guess there are so many possible start and end points that its hard to include them all. Now I am trying the CS3 Flash Video Encoder, I'll see if thats any better than regular Flash but doubtful. Maybe the next version ofby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoThe 640x360 setting works great as it gets rid of the letterbox but still preserves the 16x9 and no squishing. But for some reason the final flash file looks better when it encodes from the file I compressed with Compressor, than when I export a full quality QT file. Maybe the Adobe flash encoder isnt so good, so if it just has to encode from an h.264 file it does better. I do not know. But Fby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoSo to get a full quality QT movie, do I go Export> QT MOvie> options> compression- none, size 640x360 (current), sound- 22.050Khz, mono what should I select under Prepare for Internet streaming- fast start? or dont select Let me know any changes I shoudl make- After that then can I just convert to Flash as I have been in the Flash program or is it better to buy Squeeze or some otheby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoI just tried using compressor with the added 640x360 under the custom frame size in the geometry window, straight from my HD sequence and it turned out very nice. BUt maybe you are right, should I be exporting to a full quality .mov file and then converting to flash? I wish there was a flash conversion choice in compressor. Let me know what you think? Thanks Jenby jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoSo you export out to a QT movie and then open that in compressor? Would it work to go straight to compressor? Thanks again!by jenvery - Café LA Re: Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoThank you! Not to be a pain but could you tell me the steps from my HD sequence and then everything I should choose in compressor? Like which setting, and then the subsettings? Its such a pain to keep encoding and encoding and encoding........ thanks a ton! Jenniferby jenvery - Café LA flash encoder in compressor? - 16 years agoAnother quick question, does Compressor have a flash encoder or can you purchase one as a plug in? Let me know! Thanks again, Jenby jenvery - Café LA Compressor- 960x720 to web or HD>SD>web - 16 years agoHi! I have a HD sequence 960x720 and I am researching all the encoding methods to get it on the web. I even downloaded a book on encoding I found through this site. But I still cant figure out the best method for this. I have been able now to get videos into the iPod section of the phone. But its weird that movies on .mac accounts wont play and that it wont play flash movies. BUt at least I can show my movies now. I know this is not an iPhone forum. Just curious about exporting from FCP! Thanks! jenby jenvery - Café LA Videos on iPhone - 16 years agoHi all! I am trying to get my videos to show on my iPhone. The videos I have on my .mac website don't show up, and Apple said they won't show up. Does anyone know if its possible to go to Import>Panasonic P2 and then import directly into a certain bin? It seems to always go in the main level of the browser.
