Re: Need help to on Export... - 14 years agoIf you want to use a PC, use the freeware SUPER encoder. Use it all the time, and on an i7 it is fast! What I do is record the VHS to DVD. Then ingest the DVD. You then get solid timecode. It can't be that old they are Huge U320 drive arrays, capable of 320MB/s. If I take the unrendered proRes source material and play it, it is fine on the viewer and NTSC monitor. The codecs match and the framerates all match in the bins If I apply an effect that requires a render (green, orange, or red). All of a sudden it stutters. This only started two days ago... The stutter is say, a pan with hesitation as it crosses over the screen. As this problem happened with me on Red text in FCP, or Premeire, or stuff created in 3ds Max. Its in the divX, h264, etc conversion. The lossy converters butcher the red. The only solution is to desaturate your reds with green, or use a stable color like yellow. But this may not be a solution for you. I feel your pain. I don't have redundancy on my drives so what I do is save the project, data, movies, graphics, sound etc to the first RAID drive, and every other day I make a copy of the same items to our second 1.2TB Huge array. I want to create shapes in illustrator and use them as emission sources for particles, but so far I am stumped...
