I like to quote the PDF version, as it is fully expanded and has page numbers, which can be useful. David, sorry if the PDF reference was too resource heavy for a quick peek. We're talking step-by-step instructions with pictures... no more basic than that... It is a really good logging tool. It has simple editing capabilities. It is compatible with FCP. One of its strengths is that it can handle lots of custom metadata (for you, this would be separate fields). It seems like it could do what you want. Still won't burn - "errors were found..." - 14 years agoIf you have MPEG Streamclip, you can check your .m2v and .ac3 files to see if they play properly. For Toast, you should be able to simply drop your QTSC (self-contained QT) movie file (.mov) and let Toast transcode and burn it to DVD. It may help to know exactly what format the .mov (QTSC) file has (use info window in QT Player 7, not QT Player X if you have Mac OS X 10.6.x). You seem to have several important windows not open in Compressor, which is why you're not seeing the "settings tabs." Go to the Window menu and there are 5 listed windows that you should probably have open during normal Compressor use. Good catch. If you use the Apple system-wide color picker tool with some of the generators (if not all that have color settings) to set an RGB value of 255-255-255, the displayed values on re-opening the color picker move from 255 to 254. Switching to another "slider" sub-tool of the color picker will show thby D-Mac - Café LA Re: Crashing.... ALOT - 14 years agoFollowing Jon's suggestion, I checked BMD's website and there is a 3.6 update for the Intensity (Pro) cards. A couple of the Mac SW update sites don't show this version (macupdate and versiontracker show 3.5.2). I would also suggest using something like Onyx to delete system cache files. I can confirm the behavior for the "Text" generator. I tried a "Lower 3rd" generator, but it handles each line as a separate string, so no issue with it. I can see how it would mess up your, and others', plugins, etc. Yikes. What exactly do you mean by "doesn't export carriage returns"? That an exported FCP XML file in 7.0.2 doesn't have any line terminator characters? Does this affect all versions of XML files exported? The reason I ask is that I ran some tests and it seems like the generated output files have line terminators. I've seen the error occur on systems with "bad," usually third-party, RAM. As you mentioned, if your disc is bad (Audio Content 3), you may be able to do a custom install, skipping that part of the process (SoundTrack Pro).
