Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Yet another XML tool ? - 17 years agoreadXML is a very simple application I use for some internal stuff and testing with my work and the work of of costumers. I got quite a lot of questions about Final Cut Pro XMLs during the last years and I saw a lot of people giving up on working with XML, and I did see the poll result of Larry Jordans May Newsletter, where XML turned out to be top of the bottom features of FCP. As mentioned above the real size of a frame is relevant. So for HD you will need 1920x1080 (square) pixels for a still. If you want to zoom in for 200% you need twice the resolution and so on. The only thing where the dpi also may come in, is aby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: New Free Utility: Renames Media Files Same Name as Clips - 17 years agorda wrote: > Please post bugs with details, or I can't fix them... Hi Arnold, Great idea. I tried the app with a project XML and it took about three or four hours to tell me the same thing Nick got. Maybe the date settings from your location, Nick's and mine don't match. A US date of 07.01.2006 won't match a german 01.07.2006, if you compare the date strings. And the story is a little bit different for each editing system/platform. Here the one for FCP 5/Mac and Quicktime: Having a 24, 30, 60 fps clip or a 23.98, 29.97 or 59.94 one, any will be handled as 24, 30 or 60 as time-base for playback. The next thing is, are those clips NTSC or not - in case they are, NTSC is set to true and the playback isby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: exporting closed captioning for DVD - 17 years agoNo way to export real closed captioning from either FCP or DVDSP! There are tools for that (quite expensive) to do that - google for "closed captioning" & "Final Cut Pro" Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: 23.98 shows up as 24 fps - 17 years agoThis is the endless story about NTSC, slow seconds and real world seconds. 23.976 is the same as 24 as it plays at 24 frames per "whatever kind of second" and there is no drop frame. This makes 23.976 the same as 24. And that's why there is no preset in QT. But both of them need 1.001 seconds to display these 24 frames in the "slow NTSC world" - in the "real PAL world&quoby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: How to replicate timecode breaks on dubs - 17 years agoHi, Haven't done the below described thing for a long time, but maybe it still works. Google for HackTV, which should lead you somewhere to Apples developer sites and then download the app. This app should copy your movie as it is to your disk - make sure not to disturb the app while doing that. That's quite easy even without knowing much about AS. I've attached a very simple script. It's hold simple without error handlings to make it easier to understand, in case you're not familiar with AS. If you can't find it, it's probably not there. I think your problem could be either nested sequences or exported QT files, which are non-self contained. If you export a timeline as QT (non-self contained) the file will include a relation to the render files. If you make a change in this sequence the render files might be deleted and the QT file won't oby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Media reader that reads FCP timecode? - 17 years agoAdrian Zehn wrote: > I tried the quicktime suggestion....right clicking the time > indicator in the bottom left.....I have quicktime pro 7.1 and > nothing happens when I right click..... > Sorry, I wrote something, I shouldn't have written - seems my QT 7.1 is different.
