I've posted a rough manual for the upcoming version, may be you do have some ideas or suggestions. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Serious problem in 10.0.3 titles - 12 years agoTom, I haven't worked too much with the build in titles, but a lot of them do have key frames already build into the Motion templates. This may lead to the results you experience and also can create a kind of 'keyframe collision'. Later, as my job was what nowadays is called VFX, we used my airbrush foils and the famous Grass 35 mm cam to record openers, trailers etc. Then with my first Mac I used some Paint tools to create the graphics and used the onboard graphic card with a modified cable to transport frame by frame to a Paintbox - was pretty cool that you needed only a little bridgeby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Some thoughts about Motion Template installation ... - 12 years agoWith legacy versions of FCS it was pretty easy to install filters, generators etc. for all users/accounts on a machine. You even where able to build a nice installer with donation ware like IceBerg without knowing anything about programming. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: XTE Update - 12 years agoThe good thing about the update is that as of today there is another update. Here the reason. Several people discuss about chapter marker in X. Obiviously they aren't available anymore. Jon implemented a nice option in his tools to use XML to transfer X markers into a QT movie. I thought about another option. As markers in X only do have two options and can't be moved (as far as I can see)by Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: MFX Files - 12 years agoThe Content folder has be in another folder that contains additionally the last clip text file. - Andreas P.S. You can use my free copyCards to copy the P2 cards (and other cards) correctly.by Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X XTE Update - 12 years agoHi all, I've updated my title/subtitle exporter for X (X Title Export). It allows to extract text from build in templates and many of the custom build templates. The text can be saved as Spruce STL which is a text based format, which easily can be converted to other formats with a lot of available apps. For example you can use my TEP or you can use my free psTitles to create rendered titlesby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: FCP X beachball and slow operation mostly fixed I TAKE THAT BACK - 12 years agoFor me it seems a project with a lot of clips (or better Motion templates) seems to slow down the process, especially when you want to switch to and from compound clips. The more clips the slower it works. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Some things about roles - 12 years agoThere was a good discussion about roles in X based on a tutorial from Andy Neill on the Cow. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Outpost Digital's founder Evan Schectman says, that's it, he's moving his facility to . . . - 12 years agoI totally agree with you Gerard. And in my case I've to add the really crappy XML stuff. We made some tests with a simple subtitle transfer from one machine to another via XML. Beside the thing that are no settings transported for the titles (this applies to any kind of clip) the XML import is very slow compared to legacy FCP. While with the old version the import took 10 seconds in average wiby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X OT: Happy New Year to all - 12 years agoHere one German Classic, which nearly everybody here will watch this night. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: FCP X dead for Professionals? - 12 years agoTitles are somehow fine in FCPX as long as there are only a few. I like that they can travel with the clips, I also like that you can create your own in Motion or modify an existing one. And I like the find and replace for text in the titles. The titler's better than FCP's and you can delegate anything more advanced to After Effects. The titler is somehow good, but when it comes to subtitles and exporting/exchanging subtitles, correct them etc. PPro is currently a bad choice, if you have to do jobs like that. I know that there was no multicam till version 5, but a lot of companies had build their workflows upon it after it was implemented.
