I would transfer data from one drive to your comp, for temp storage, than transfer to the other drive.Or you could go out and spend 5 bucks and get another cable (always good to have more) . ok onto the second part (well first i supose) It is just as easy as dragging and dropping into the sequence. Just brace yourselfby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: Wire removal to solve a problem? - 16 years agoIf they are all there, wait until final export, send to AE and send out to compressor for dvd compression. If it's selected 'shots' than maybe an 'in' fcp solutuion would be betterby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: PCI, PCI-E, PCI-X. a bit of help please - 16 years agothanks, thats what I thought but the pci card we got didn't fit, so I will look into those thanks a tonby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: BIG capture problems! - 16 years agoOk, I've seen similar things but never this exact problem. This may take some work, so get out your pipe and call Wattson, It's time to get diging sherlock! Find out if ALL the drives that have touched this file (I DO MEAN ALL) are formatted correctly. (i'm serius, run diskutility, techtules, diskwarrior w/e it takes on any and all drives that have come into contact with this project file) Iby Aaron Zander - Café LA PCI, PCI-E, PCI-X. a bit of help please - 16 years agook, need to add a new firewire buss to this g5. it's a pci-x model and from my understanding a pci car adna pci-x card are keyed the same, but apparantly they aren't. At the same time I haven't been able to track down a pci-x firewire buss for it either. Any tips, suggestions or help here? I'm hopelessly stumped stumped. -Aaronby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: [OT] multi machine updates - 16 years agoOk, silly note, I laughed at the cloning of a full lab of updates, not 45 min later my boss pushed out a bad 'rm' command and we had to reclone 35 drives.by Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: not capturing - 16 years agoYea, I work in a school as well (student worker) we freeze all our systems from this reason, with the exception of maybe 5 of them which are meant for high end hd work and sound work. But with deep freeze, the worst that will ever happen is save, quit restart. Saves a lot of trouble shooting time. Though I have a feeling it drives up the risk of permission issuesby Aaron Zander - Café LA [OT] multi machine updates - 16 years agoSo, its update time for the Digital Labs I work in in the college I attend. every 2 months we have several days to just update. I've been trying to find a controler App (above and beyond ARD) that can run 5-10 updates based on the push out, Or even do some installs (though not always the best idea). I believe the way to do this is to rightclick the keyframes and there should be an option to smooth them (havent done it in a bit).by Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: 16mm to digital transfer vendors in LA - 16 years agoYale is good as well they have a tension machine which is nice if you get perf damage. Saved a project a while back (and by saved, i mean they scanned in completly ruined footage...but they did it) side note, the 2 links work fine for me.by Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: Different Formats --> One Sequence - 16 years agobasicly what you have to do is choose a format in which you will work with. The general concesus is this: Work in your lowest quality format to compesate for quality There by you want to work in a dv sequence, and drop your other clips in there. Other wise you will be scaling up to hdv, or trying to make dv look like dvcproby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: 16mm to digital transfer vendorsin LA - 16 years agoI'd trust matchframe with my life, not sure about their cleaning, but they are very proffesional and extemely good at what they do. Other options I would look at would be Post Group or perhaps Riot (though i think that might be a bit overboard) another option would be Fotokemby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: converting FCP aiff to mp3 - 16 years agoaiff's are useable in Itunes I dont see what the issue would be with just brining the straight exported aiff's into itunes from FCP?by Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: OT - thoughts on youtube - 17 years agoHere's what i wish, people woud continue posting quality video as well, too many people use low band width streaming video, with horrible compressiona nd ask you to look at it I had a potential client post some chroma key material he did a test shoot, he snet me to this link that was streaming video (you tube quality) and he wanted me to give him my thoughts on cost/and time and what i thoughtby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: Will it work? - 17 years agoi heard it was actual dual carded, adn u can have 3 external moniters, and use the 1/4 inch outputs to hook up to outside speakersby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: new macpros - 17 years agook, as one of the leading people with experience with the mac pro's on the forums (im now working with 36 of them, 2 of them ar 3.0's with 8 gigs of ram ) ive seen very few problems other than they dont like deep freeze, but no computers really like it. the thing is as an adc student member i was waiting for this computer to use my discount, adn now i only have one for 2007, instead of using it lby Aaron Zander - Café LA Re: OT: Apple Remote Desktop...help! - 17 years agoARD IS AND ISN't ON ALL MACS ard functionality is built into all macs, and can be accesed as long as the functionality is turned on on the computer (i forget where, i just did this 30 times like a week ago too...thanks teenage years!) but the admin app is not cheap and is a seperate app do you know for sure if your computer has ard access enabled? probalby to late/early for this any waby Aaron Zander - Café LA new macpros - 17 years agodoes any one have a time frame for the release of the new macpor's with the new intel octo cores, i was hoping macworld, but steve jobs crushed my dreams with an Iphone. any one have a clue, I finally hae the cash for it, and have a blank monitor staring me in the face, waiting for use.
