Cheers Nick, also got a reply on a g-raid forum "As long as you have Thunderbolt on your MacBook Pro it should function fine. TB2 itself wasn’t added till 10.9. And 3 was added in 10.12. It should be able to backwards down to TB1" so looking good. thanks again WMby Wanted Man - Café LA

HI all, many thanks for reading . . I'm looking to get a new GRAID drive # but my laptop is a 2012 mackbook pro running OS 10.8.2. I understand the drive above (graid 2018 8tb) was tested with mac OS 10.12 ... I've been advised by the drive retailer that it "might" work with my OS 10.8.2 but it can't be guaranteed as it was tested on 10.12 or higher. hence hoping for a more knowlby Wanted Man - Café LA

Hi folks, long time no post but hoping one of you guys may be able to enlighten me here . . Opening up my chrome browser on my macbook pro (10.8.2 OS) it's now notifying "this computer will soon stop receiving google chrome updates" for certain OS versions. I still primarily use my FCP7.0 and am wondering if I do upgrade my OS if it will stop me from using my beloved and much relby Wanted Man - Café LA

. . The client has supplied all audio for a project in mp3 format. To my surprise after being sync'd with the footage via Pluraleyes the files seem to be running ok in my FCP7, I thought maybe convert to .wav (?) Only thing is there are 100+, 100's of audio files and needless to saying doing them one by one seems insane. Any thoughts? WMby Wanted Man - Café LA

Premiere has a 'denoise' filter that can give good results in my experience I'm in a similar situation with a project at the moment, different takes of two subjects talking each with their own 'noise' signature etcby Wanted Man - Café LA

My vote would be . . - to record audio on all cameras whilst shooting - record pro audio separately i.e get a feed from the sound guy / mixer - then use the Pluraleyes to auto-sync your rushes. If I understand what it is you're trying to do this may be easier or work just as well as other suggestions here. WMby Wanted Man - Café LA

solved it. re-encoding the rushes away from the rouge h264 sorted the issue! Happy days are here again WMby Wanted Man - Café LA

the footage is fine, 25fps all the way, info on audio files all i see is the usual info other than fps, even in FCP the audio files don't show fps PS: just noticed despite client saying otherwise the rushes are h264, currently transcoding all rushes and hoping that'll be the fix.by Wanted Man - Café LA

Hi all, I've been supplied video and audio by the client, I synced the first lot of footage and the audio from that day shot with it, absolutely fine, exported, xml imported, all synced and lovely, The second set of scene correlated fine in 'sync' in Pluraleyes as per usual but then when I came to import the xml I get an error message: "Wed, Dec 10, 2014, 14:52 - Errors Found Importby Wanted Man - Café LA

Thanks again Andy, I'm not FCP7.3, am I shafted here from the outset? As long as the client transcodes the footage their end it'd be fine though right? I could just edit in my FCP7? Would dealing with the raw Canon C300 in Premiere be any easier or more straight forward?by Wanted Man - Café LA

Thanks Andy, So by downloading this canon utility, with my FCP7 i will simply be able to transcode to prores etc using FCP log and transfer? I would of course ensure the client has copied ALL metadata and file attributes to the drive.by Wanted Man - Café LA

Hi guys, I have a project i'm on the brink of excepting and time is tight so I really appreciate any help here . . Does anyone know of a workflow for Canon C300 footage using FCP 7.0 ? is it possible even? For speeds sake i'd like to cut this job in my FCP7 and rather not use my Premiere 6. you can't beat the business model . it's just like the rise of the desktop computer, before long everyones doing it. EDIT: ok ive just checked it out. pretty disgusting to be honest and yes it'll change things . some two-bit college kid doing 2 designs in 48hrs for less than $10 ? Hi Guys, My client is providing me with canon-shot .MXF files. I can read these in VLC but not open them in streamclip for conversion. Can anyone suggest the most efficient transcoding workflow? Cheers, WMby Wanted Man - Café LA

Ok, Thanks for your time on this D, I have found a work-around, reconnecting the individual clips, re-multiclip then scan and match/manual sync to the TASCAM audio files. While this allows immediate progress to be made I'm still curious as to the possible root-cause of this problem, if anyone else has insight or suggestion please do contribute! 1- make sure you're not using mp3s, 2- reconnect media / re-render as far as im aware it's just something fcp can do on occasion, also make sure you're using wavs/aiffs, all of one or the other (although i've even had it happen with wavs)by Wanted Man - Café LA

Also when reconnecting each camera in the multiclip the second 2nd camera reconnects as the first, so the multiclip consists off two shots the same. when I do this the media says online in the project file butby Wanted Man - Café LA

The file names go i.e MVI_3302 - MVI_4210 etc, that is to say they are numbered thus. they're not all numbered 'MVI_0001' in my initial post i said "P.S I found this in an Apple forum (problem sounds identical - multiclip media offline not 'workflow is identical) although there was no resolve" i then quote the post heralding a similar problem (in likeness) and link to that post. mby Wanted Man - Café LA

The files in the multiclips (two camera interviews) are labeled 'MVI_0001' etc . The audio is also labeled as generated. QuoteLetting a non-editing-trained director prep an editing session is a recipe for disaster. As the editor, you should have been checking on his assistant-editor work to make sure it was properly done before proceeding with anything else. Thanks for picking this up Derek, The multiclips were prepared on a laptop with PluralEyes to sync separately recorded sound, the laptop was connected to our central server, then the laptop went off on a shoot with the director but he forgot to copy across the audio files to the server before leaving. So i've opened up the project files today and am having to reconnect the multiclips in myby Wanted Man - Café LA
