Or I believe you can also capture normal DV - NTSC and there's a menu command under tools that will remove the pulldown once it's captured. Then I think make sure your sequence frame rateby razorbabyy - Café LA Stupid question, but... - 18 years agoFCP 5.1.2 Is there a way to delete Easy Set Ups that I created? And is there a way to change the settings of an easy set up I created?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Can´t print video to video - 18 years agoThere's a seperate setting for output to tape. make sure this points to your deck (most likely firewire)by razorbabyy - Café LA Can anyone suggest some sound effects/royalty free music libraries? - 18 years agoI'm looking to purchase some sound effects and music. Cany anyone suggest some good libraries? I have a few of "The Mix" Libraires which are good but want something with longer music- like 2-5 minutes per song. Also some good sound effects, with lots of good sounds for transitions. Thanks!by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Play in background? - 18 years agoCould you apply a timecode generator filter and export that? Then just open it in quicktime and have that run while you type?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoIt's definatly not the deck. We cleaned it and tried with a different deck and we're receiving the same problems. We're capturing to a raid that has abvout 1.9 tb left on it...so i know it's not that...... It's entirely possible tha tapes are bad. I'll try dubbing to another tape and see how that works. Again, thanks for all your help.by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoI'm encoding a DVD right now so i'll try what Derek suggested in a bit. Yeah, I'm getting dropped frames still. The thing is, FCP does not abort on the dropped frames as I have told it to in preferences..... When I say "dropped frames" I mean liittle millisecond blips of dissapeared video and audio---like a jump cut which occasionally causes the audio to drift out of sync........by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoCould it possibly be a firewire issue? Gaaah! Oh and Kazikowski...I'm a male, LOL.by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoSo....let's say it's "regular pulldown" How would I go about capturing and puting it in a timeline so this all looks nice and pretty? What's my next step?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoOur client told me that it was shot in 24PA....perhaps he's misinformed? Possibly...afterall he initially told me it was HDV footage..... I can try to black a tape but that won't allow me to capture the blacked footage in advanced pulldown removal will it? Scott- I tried cleaning the deck, and I hooked up a DSR-45 and am expieriencing the same problem. Thanks for all your replies (by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoI am capturing to a raid. I tried capturing to one of my firewire drives. It doesn't change anything. I don't have access to the camera. Just the tapes and the JVC Deck.by razorbabyy - Café LA Dropped Frames On Capture - 18 years agoI posted below about not being able to remove advnaced pulldown. I think it's because on capture, I am dropping frames. I have abort on dropped frames checked in my preferences, but it does not abort. It continues to capture with the dropped frames. Then when I go to remove the pulldown, it tells me there is a problem witht he cadence. Why am I dropping frames on capture? I'm using Finaby razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoThanks for the reply. No. It doesn't tell me there is a capture problem. What can I do to fix this?by razorbabyy - Café LA Ugh! Huge Problems! Advaned Pulldown............... - 18 years agoUsing FCP 5.1.2 Capturing from a JVC BRHD50. Footage is 24PA The problem is this: FCP will not allow me to remove advanced pulldown. I get the following error message when I try to capture with the advanced pulldown setting: "Clips with broken VFR/Pulldown Cadence" Which, afterwards does not even capture the clip. My logged clip remains offline. And I get this errby razorbabyy - Café LA Another Anamorphic question........... - 18 years agoFinal Cut 5.1.2 The client gave me a PSD file that contains stills he wants us to use as titles. The PSD canvas is sized to 720x480. when I bring the PSD into the timeline it does not fill the anamorphic screen. What am I doing wrong?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Advanced pulldown question - 18 years agoAndrew, I get an error message saying something like "Error- stopped at t" . I get this message both when I try to digitize with the pulldown removal, and when I try to remove the pulldown as you suggested after I captured DV NTSC anamorphic. Does that error message sound familiar?by razorbabyy - Café LA Advanced pulldown question - 18 years agoI know this has been asked before, and I've read a few posts, but I feel the need to ask..... I am trying to capture Anamorphic DV NTSC 24PA material into FCP 5.1.2 What is the best way to do this? I can not (for some rason) capture with the "remove advanced pulldown" setting. But is there a way to removed the pulldown after it's been captured as 29.97? I will eventuallyby razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Anamorphic problems....HELP!!!! - 18 years agoThanks for all your help!by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Anamorphic problems....HELP!!!! - 18 years agoThanks. I'll try that. The thing is, the DVD's are just Client check discs. The final product will be for the web. But one thing I'd like to do is to be able to record to DVD to a real time DVD burner-straight from the timeline. How would I be able to do that and have the DVD be able to be viewed on a 4:3 monitor?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Anamorphic problems....HELP!!!! - 18 years agoBTW, I'm using Final Cut 5.1.2by razorbabyy - Café LA Anamorphic problems....HELP!!!! - 18 years agoI captured (what the client told me was) DV NTSC anamorphic footage. I bring it into my DV timeline with the anamorphic checkbox checked. Everything looks beautiful. But when I export a self contained movie for DVD studio pro, the aspcect ratio changes and everything looks squeezed. If i import that same file into the same timeline, it also looks squeezed.... What have I done wrong?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: 2 Q's: Most stable version of OSX 10.4? and help importing transparent images? - 18 years agoGreg, When you save yout Tiff, there should be a check box to make the background transparent (or not transparent) BTW, I love your short films a great! (This is Matt-from SillyCon).....seen you on myspace!by razorbabyy - Café LA DV NTSC 24p 16x9 workflow - 18 years agoI have FCP 5.1.2 Just want to check this wokflow so that I don't have any weird problems. I'm capturing using the DV NTSC Anamorphic setting. Do I need to remove pulldown or anything like that? If so, how do I go about doing this? If I don't, will my audio go out of sync?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: copy & pasting transition FX? - 18 years agoyou can also try holding down option and just drag the transition overtop the 2 clips you want to copy that transition to. One of my favorite FCP shortcuts!by razorbabyy - Café LA FX Factory - 18 years agoJust watched all their demos and it all looks pretty cool. Has anyone used these before that can provide some unbiased feedback?by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: Exporting Motion to Quicktime movie - 18 years agoNot sure but H.2.64 probably isn't the best codec to export. You want to export as the same settings as your timelines in FCP. OR: This is even better. Just import your motion file into FCP and drop it on your timeline. You'll have to render, but the advantage is if you control click it on your timeline and choose "Open in Editor" you can make adjustments to your motion project,by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: PLEASE HELP WITH DVD - 18 years agoUse Compressor. 1 pass vbr. Keep your bit rates fairly low. Compress your audio to AC3. I've been able to fit 2 1/2 hours on a DVD with menus...never gone as high as 3.....by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: bad jagged text - 18 years agoAre you viewing on an external monitor or just the canvas monitor? The text will normall look horrible on the canvas. Most likely it will be fine.by razorbabyy - Café LA Re: FCP is creating multiple clips where it shouldn't when capturing from JVC GY-HD100 - 18 years agoI had a smimilar problem trying to capture 720p24 from that camera, but that was on 5.0.4. I was told it has something to do with the GOP. Everytime the camera is stopped and started, it placed a break. Had a pretty intense workaround to get the footage in. Don't know what to tell you but maybe that might give you some clues.by razorbabyy - Café LA |
