I looked into official classes but even Moviola doesn’t offer them anymore. I’ve taught everything to myself so far with books and tutorials but I simply cannot get into FCP X myself, tried several times. If someone in my area gives classes or even private classes, please contact me via k&by Katrin1980 - Café LA FCP X trial won't open - says graphics card is not compatible - 12 years agoI just downloaded the trial version to have a glimpse and it says my graphics card is no good - I looked it up on the Apple site and there my ATI RADEON HD 3870 is clearly supported... Any idea what's wrong?by Katrin1980 - Café LA - X Re: Producers that don't pay!!!!! - 13 years agoOk, I haven't read the whole thing. It happened to me once but luckily I gave him a finished file with low quality and watermark...so he had to pay me first to get the full version.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoNow, end of the story was that my ripper was crap. I bought a different one and the picture quality was much better and no stuttering! So, wasn't my fault for a change And then my DVD burner broke down...unbelievable! this disc just didn't want to be burnt...by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoYeah, that's what I'm doing right now...just trying different timeline settings and codecs...we'll see which one will do best. thanks Derek!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoOk, I'll download Handbrake and try to rip again tomorrow in .mov files. I'll now make it a Uncompressed 10-bit SD timeline and see what that will do. I created a disc image in toast, no stuttering! but also not enough options to create a menue...by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agooh gees, I thought that was just a term, not a word for a software Did I understand correctly that it's a ripper?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoYeah, I think that's the easiest way... thanks!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoOh ok, thanks for bearing with me Derek Now, here are my ripping settings: MP4, video quality: 2500 Kbps, audio quality: 448 Kbps and Split: infinite. (as for a .mov file I'd have video quality: 1200 Kbps and Audio also" 448 Kbps) Then, in Final Cut my settings are: Frame size: 640x480 pixal aspect ratio: square filed dominance: none 29,97 fps compressor: MPEG-4 This is actuaby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoNo, I did not. So, you think I should rip it as a quicktime mov and that it would improve the quality? I already gave him the original DVD back but I see him tomorrow, could then rip it again. After ripping as a mov file...what settings would I need in FCP and compressor? And why does it look good in the canvas in viewer but not after exporting?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoIt would've been able to extract as a .mov file too but as far as I remember the quality was worse. I just looked at the ripped files...the quality is better than after outputting from Final Cut. Those old TNG episodes sometimes were a little out of sync or had fragments but of course I wanna do as best as I can. It must be something I did in FCP. Now, after ripping the codec is mp4...shoulby Katrin1980 - Café LA Stuttering motion after outputting with Compressor - 14 years agoHi guys, need your help. A befriended director asked me to rip and burn a TNG episode he directed. He only had the "bought DVD version" not the original files. So since this is a favor I cannot spend any money on it. I have the 4Media DVD Ripper and made mp4 files of the episode. In FCP I changed the codec to apple pro res and exported the movie with quicktime. Then I used the coby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Trying to prolong a replicator - Help! - 14 years agoohhhhhh, how embarassing...I tried that before but had the feeling it doesn't do anything. thank you Mark!by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: Wipe from 'Stingray' - 14 years agowooooooow! thank you so much Jude that you took the time! awesome!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Trying to prolong a replicator - Help! - 14 years agoHi guys, this is weird. I've worked with Motion (a while ago) before but I can't get this right. How can I prolong the duration of a replicator (the 'neon' sign) without it slowing down? It's now 10 seconds, I need it to be 2 minutes 18s but with the same speed. I've attached an audio behavior to the scaling of the neon, looks nice but whenever I prolong the duration of the sign and/or the bby Katrin1980 - Motion Re: Wipe from 'Stingray' - 14 years agoCan you please explain me how to do it? I thought I knew how, didn't work. Or is there some tutorial you know that could help me? I drew a curvy line with the line tool but couldn't even figure out how to make the motion path visible so I can adjust the motion points...by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Wipe from 'Stingray' - 14 years ago@Joey: yeaaaah, I loved the show. I mean the wipe at 00:18. Possibly crushed by Miami Vice, it only had three seasons I think. @Jude: take a look at the link Joey posted at 00:18 you see what I mean. Can you tell me how to do it? I thought about it but I wouldn't know how to do it...with motion paths maybe?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Wipe from 'Stingray' - 14 years agoHi everybody and a Happy New Year! I'm looking from that band wipe from the 80s TV series 'Stingray'. It's so retro I know I had it on Premiere Pro and thought I had it somewhere on FCP too...turns out I don't. Does someone know where I can get a free plugin for that?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Voiceover problems in Soundtrack Pro - 15 years agooh, you're right. I disabled the cam and it worked in Soundtrack. Then I checked out the VO tool in FCP...I don't think I've ever tried that before. thanks!by Katrin1980 - Soundtrack Pro Voiceover problems in Soundtrack Pro - 15 years agoI wasn't sure if this is a Soundtrack Pro question coz it's kind of general, so I'm posting it here: I need to do a voiceover in Soundtrack Pro but realized that my logitech webcam seems to have come in the way. I have a cinema display so I hooked up an external cam to videochat. now, in my prefs I have the following settings in the "sound" tab: Output: line out, type built-in lineby Katrin1980 - Soundtrack Pro Re: Avid For Final Cut Editor - 15 years agoMoviola is great and Andrew rocksby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: OT: Michael Jackson - 15 years agoDan Brockett Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I was in Paris yesterday and all that has been on > French TV is the death of MJ and all of the > tributes to him.
