Re: 2 camera shoot: TC issue - 16 years agoI guess you guys are right. It's going to have to be an eye match to synch up. This is what I've been doing so far. Per Shane's advice I've compared the master file's TC and the media managed files: the TC matches which means that the conversion doesn't mess up the TC. I've also checked the TC on the master file from the SS card and the TC off the tape. They don't match, which confirms what Shaby xavpil - Café LA Re: Drive went south, now wha -- help! - 16 years agoHey Derek You're saying that Capture Now may cause TC drifting. Could that be part of the answer to my earlier posting (synching problem)? We are using Capture Now because they are so many TC break in the tape (5 to 20) that it would take a long time to log. Maybe it wouldn't take longer than the actual time it's taking right now. It's taking between 60 to 90 minutes to digitize a 40 minby xavpil - Café LA Re: 2 camera shoot: TC issue - 16 years agoWhat you guys have been mentioning is interesting, but the question isn't about synching cameras. The shoot is done and now i am having the problem to synch. I don't believe that the cameras could be that far off one from the other. I suspect that something is happening during the transfer and conversion of the cards (EX cam).by xavpil - Café LA Re: 2 camera shoot: TC issue - 16 years agoHey Shane, I didn't know you were the Senior on this job. Great news! I'll swing by around 5:30pm on Monday. It's a good idea to do the comparison between the XDCAM masters and the DV down converts. I believe the cam. op didn't sink up properly but the strange thing ("interesting thing" in fact because it's a chance to learn something new!!) is that when I synch up a section of thby xavpil - Café LA 2 camera shoot: TC issue - 16 years agoThe shoot was done with 2 Sony cameras. That's all. Which would be a PM G5. I don't have the $$ for it at the moment, of course so, if you answer yes to any of these questions, you should reply to my posting: 1) you've upgraded your edit bays and ended up with a bunch of G5 you're not using 2) you remember these days when you started ouby xavpil - lafcpug Market Freelance Assistant Editor available for work - 16 years agoI have over 2 years of experience working in promos, image campaigns and interstitials for Disney, ABC Family, CBS, Comedy Central.
