Our current audio ops send a scratch mix wirelessly to camera and while we have never had to rely on it, when ever I have listened to it it's crap quality. Barely useable for sync. It's pretty low on a long list of things we need to fix. I have no idea currently what will happen to an audio TC when transfering from 23.976 to 29.97. So if you use it you should work with an independent copy of your video files and then type in an AUX TC for each clip by hand. To use the timecode and play rate of the audio HDR you can use FCP 5.1.2 as long as the audio recording isby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: 1pic, 100pic, 1000pic - TRUMAN SHOW POSTER fx? - 17 years agoYou can use VideoScript as well, I did use it some years ago, it worked fine but slow. Also you have to figure out what sources will be matching pixel/area color. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Seemingly Simple Sound Problem - 17 years agoSorry Koz to mention 5.1.2 version of FCP in this context, but I got tons of emails these days about the BWAV timecode support of FCP 5.1.2, and so I automatically jumped onto that track. You can use BWF with all versions of FCP and all versions of QT as long as they don't have more then two channels (in one file), more channels require QT 7 and FCP 5.x. Old versions of FCP and QT may requireby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Seemingly Simple Sound Problem - 17 years agoHi, If the files are BWF format, you can use my BWF2XML tool to attach an TC track to the file, which will tell FCP how to playback. You also may google for "Convert it" it's a set of scripts which will convert the sample description and TC, so FCP 5.1.2 will think it has to play the files slower. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Tons of Dual Mono 44.1 files to Stereo 48 - 17 years agoHi Andrew, I could take some code out of my old BounceUs, which uses the same file name "collector" as the current BWF2XL but is also able to read SDII timecodes and export to BroadcastWAVE. It does use the QT sample rate conversion. So you may try that with QT Player Pro. Something which was asked by Nick and which isn't answered by Pablo: what Nagra? So NagraV is a digital recorder where files just can be transfered to the Mac's HD as BWF. Synch and TC/play rate are another thing. And I stay with Phil: Telecine sync is never perfect and can be out by more than a frame. Regards Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: photos to HD - 17 years agoHi, It's simple. If you need to zoom 150 percent with HDV, you need an image width of 1920 pixels x 1.5 = 2880 pixels. Having a 6 inch negative means the 2880 pixels/dots have to be distributed to the 6 inch wide original. This results in 2880 dots / 6 inch = 480 (dots per inch). So that's your scan settings. Regards Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Post Sound Workflow - 17 years agoHi, As my name was mentioned above, here some things about BWF and FCP. BWF as pure sound was always supported by FCP when it came with a ".wav" extension. BWF polyphonic was not supported until QT7 and FCP 5 BWF timecode was not supported until version 5.1.2 BWF metadata (like "TAPE" or iXML data is not supported by any version of FCP. 5.1.2 timecode support is basby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: importing deva audio - 17 years agoHi, Long story (pretty) short answer. There is no rate! at least not in the audio timecode. Make sure what 29.97 the recordist used - DF/NDF. FCP 5.1.2 will use the "startup setup" - means when it was closed last time with 24 fps it will use 24 fps. So if your project was/is 24 fps, audio tc64 will be interpreted at 24 (or 23.976 or 29.97 NDF or 25) depending on the current setupby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Yellow Subtitles- Attributes Mult. May I add some stuff to make it even cooler? I don't wait for the answer, just give it. 1) Open the controls of the clip with the filter applied, select the filter, press option-return, the filter (or generator) will open in FX-Builder (as long it is not encrypted). 2) After the filter has been saved and FCP has been closed, cmd-click FCP in the dock or selectby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: OT: New "Text Up" Generator - 17 years agoMichael Horton Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This sounds cool Andreas. For a subtitle project I modified the original Apple "Text" generator that way that the last paragraph always stays at a position given in the controls. So it's just the opposite way of formating the Apple generator uses. Let me know and I'll put it on my site for download.
