Re: Adobe Purchases IRIDAS - 12 years agoYeah...wow...again Adobe with great timing in taking advantage of Apple's colossal brain fart. All Adobe needs is to do is incorporate a solid 3D app (Maxon's Cinema 4D) and 3D tracker into the suite and it's one-stop shoppin'. Nice work Adobe. Keep it upby grafixjoe - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Can I get high resolution stills from HD footage? - 12 years agoYou cannot get a higher resolution than what was captured. It is not possible. 1920 x 1080 @ 72 dpi is it. Sure you can blow them up...but they will soften.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: OT (RT): It's here!!! FCP X to After Effects! - 12 years ago...and it ain't FREE. "Minimum donation" is $89.00 USD. Is anyone actually cutting RED in FCP X at this point?by grafixjoe - Café LA - X Re: Atomos Announces Complete Integration with Final Cut Pro X - 12 years agoI would probably buy one of those if they captured via HDMI from my 7D without the viewfinder stuff.by grafixjoe - News and Announcements Re: What TV shows are being shot on what equipment? - 12 years agoWhat's this "film" you speak of?by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: G-Raid drives? - 12 years agoNope...no G-RAIDS for me. Quit them years ago when they sold out to another company. Dead drives became the norm.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: OT: Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple - 12 years agoIt's all over the place. The Resignation Letter is on page 1 of Macrumors:by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: can you install a ProRes encoder without FCP? - 12 years ago...you have to install FCP to get the auto-Quicktime Pro Activation option I believeby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Graphically Enhanced Manual for FCP X - 12 years agoIs this Apple sanctioned?by grafixjoe - Café LA - X Re: SD Card recovery advice needed - 12 years agoHey Harry...do you have the camera or another camera that can mount SD cards? You should be able to get to the contents via firewire card through the camera.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Can Avid coexist with FCP on same system drive? - 12 years agoUh...Adobe has issues with Lion - wouldn't go here just yet.by grafixjoe - Avid Media Composer Re: Best Codec for 3DS Max animation coming into FCP - 12 years agoI dislike receiving assets from PCs. They do not have ProRes capability. H264 is too compressed. Tell them you want Animation @ "Best" rez.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Can Avid coexist with FCP on same system drive? - 12 years agoYes...I have both on mine...just cannot run them at the same time. I suggest if you don't know a single thing about the program, there is another resource that might be helpful:by grafixjoe - Avid Media Composer Re: H.264 taking too long - 12 years agoHey Kev...check your email my friend...by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: What to do.... - 12 years agoThat was a 12-Guage to the face fellas (2 cameras rolling - 1 take ). Didn't you notice he looked out of the hole where the peep hole was blown away - right where my eyeball was on his monitor? They messed up the continuity a bit...dropped the shotgun a little low in his hands...should have had Duddy pointing the gun a little higher on his medium shot. Oh well.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: TIPS ON UPGRADING TO "TIGER" SAFELY - 12 years agoNope...staying as far away from Lion as possible for AT LEAST the first 6 months if not longer. Waaaaaay too much broke stuff associated with it that I need to work. 10.6.8. rocks = let sleeping beachballs lie.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Looking for recomendations for a alternative to a mouse - 12 years ago...and signatures I signed a W-9 online last night - so cool!!by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Which way? - 12 years agoYeah I know Kev...being optimistic. My conversations with Dave Helmly are very reassuring that Premiere CS 5.5 is only the beginning of "The Beast". The next major upgrade he told me "the pros will not be disappointed". I have been an Adobe fanboy since 1996 when I was using Premiere 4.2 and a Targa 2000 Pro to cut school work on a PowerMac 9500. I am still here...still rooby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Looking for recomendations for a alternative to a mouse - 12 years agoMe too...Wacom user since 1996 (started with an ArtzII 6x8). I have a medium Intuos 4 now...love all the functionality / SUPER sensitive. Comes with a pen & cordless battery-less mouse in case you change your mind (I use it sometimes) and other goodies.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: What to do.... - 12 years agoYep. Here's one episode...I am playing "Miguel" - Chauffeur & Bodyguard for Alexander Dykstra. I get killed at the end:by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: What to do.... - 12 years agoIf his "buddy" is any good, he'll figure it out. I say screw 'em. You did the work = you should get paid for revisions. Times are tough and your Actor client (yes xavpil, he's a paying client) is being cheap. Actors I should know...I was a starving one of those back in the Miami Vice 80's. It's what motivated me to get off my ass and do something productive like Post Production so I coby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: The cost of plug-ins - 12 years agoQuotewalterbiscardi said Adobe Suite works pretty seamlessly with Dynamic Link so we can round trip to AE and such quite easily. Watch it Walter...Jeff don't like the word "seemless" with AE Dynamic Link QuoteJude Cotter said I've come to the conclusion that I Don't Actually Want to Have to Change Bravo. Being FORCED to make a change sucks big fat eggs. I am pi$$ed that we eveby grafixjoe - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: The cost of plug-ins - 12 years agoPP Dynamic Link is seemless. Change it in AE / updates in PP.by grafixjoe - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Have you used either of these RAID 5 enclosures? - 12 years agoSorry...OWC. Doesn't matter who said it...still wrong.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: An Unhappy Lion. - 12 years ago...this is the same continuous Apple downward spiral. Apple still hasn't fixed the stupid API Network bug that's a year old so why would they do this? I don't know what the hell's going on in Cupertino, but it feels like the wheels are coming off. Could Steve being in poor health have anything to do with these issues / poor decisions or is it a coincidence?by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Help with removing static please? - 12 years agoQuoteI got this off a CD from a game. / I just ripped the CD off with windows media player. Er...that doesn't sound like a music CD to me. Game CD's are HIGHLY copyrighted & protected. I have a little insight on this as I work for a decent sized game company.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Have you used either of these RAID 5 enclosures? - 12 years agoWait a minute...you are saying CalDigit told you RAID 5 is not great for "sustained data rate with video due to parity checking"? Bullsh!t. I ran a RAID 5 tower on my last job for 5 years (Uncompressed SD / 1080 Prores HQ)...and, like Walter, it saved my a$$ more than once.by grafixjoe - Café LA |
