FCP 10.4.8 work with OS 10.15.2 - 4 years agoI haven't used this forum for years sorry. I downloaded my iMac to Catalina 10.15.2 running FCPX 10.4.8 and upgraded several projects only to find they constantly get the spinning wheel. I know years ago you were supposed to wait on updates, now what can I do to get the project running smooth? iMac late 2015, 16GB ram, AMD Radeon R9 M395 2 GB Thanks for any help....Rickby newptfot - Café LA - X Re: J-peg/tiff import - 12 years agoHi, Yes using a Sony broadcast monitor, I will check on Photoshop RGB setting. All the portrait are same lighting and set up so it might be RGB setting. Thank you, Rickby newptfot - Café LA J-peg/tiff import - 12 years agoI have FCP 7.0.3, 1920x1080, pro res 422 timeline. I have a project with a number of j-pegs and tiff files half are fine in timeline and half are dark and contrasty. When I open in photoshop or viewer they are fine, they just go south in FCP? I assume 35mm but which would be next FCP 6.0.6 76 minutes long thank you for any advice. Rickby newptfot - Motion up rez project titles - 15 years agoHi me again, my last post was about up-rezing my timeline which I have done. Original was 720x480 now it's 1920x1080 , 23.98p PRORES 422HQ. I rendered the timeline and noticed on playback some text (titles are missing) all but a few are FCP the rest are DH sub titles (Digital Heaven). In the new sequence if you load them in the viewer they show in the control tab but they don't show on the new tby newptfot - Café LA Re: up-res project - 15 years agoThank you Nick I agree with your train of thought and will talk tomorrow with the post house, Technicolor Digital Cinema in Burbank. It all started by the Academy asking for J-peg 2000 then the post house started firing all the questions about timeline, text, audio etc. way over my head but I'm learning fast. "As per our phone conversation, it would be advised to uprez to fit into a 2048x1080 container so you control how the uprez will look. NO compression on the file, and make sure to embed the audio in sync with the picture."by newptfot - Café LA up-res project - 15 years agoA rookie here FCP 2 6.0.3 . I'm trying to get a project converted to show at a theater the post production house is asking me to up-res to 2k uncompressed. They say the project should fit in a container size of 2040 x 1080. The project on the timeline is a mix of mini dv, stills, vhs transfer and digitized 16mm. My sequence settings are NTSC CCIR 601-dv, I hope this all makes sense. The projectby newptfot - Café LA render after speed setting check on timeline - 16 years agoPower Pc G5, 10.4.11 3.5 gig ram, FCP 6.0.2 When I command J to check a clips speed or duration all of a sudden even if I don't change anything I get a red render bar when I close the box never had that. My timeline set to-safe realtime, dynamic, dynamic,full qty playback. It's kind of irritating. The files was created in after effects (export quicktime) and he says he has an older version of quicktime?by newptfot - Café LA after effects/ quicktime - 16 years agoFCP2, OS10.4.11 dual 2.7GHZ Power Pc G5 I recieived a Quick Time file from a customer a two minute series of titles with various spins and effects. When I import into FCP it plays fine until the end, when I export a quicktime and import into DVDSP the timeline does not play to the very end it cuts off several seconds. I don't have any in and out points in FCP, I don't know after effects so Iby newptfot - Café LA Re: 60s surf promo - 16 years agoThanks I know about the music we have a music guy once were farther along I just made a quick intro to show the format I'm after.
