After Effects issues - 11 years ago
I'm using Andrew Kramer's presets to do the whole rotoscoping thing... trying to make a normal guy have a light saber instead of a broom handle. I'm trying to set my in and out points in "Beam" and when I adjust the starting point and ending point in with a keyframe, nothing changes in the composition. It worked when I set down the first starting and ending points, now it doesn't want tby digibody - Café LA

So it turns out the lip-syncing works if I slow the footage down at 112%, while I don't personally like the look, the client is okay with it, so weird to confirm the video around the audio but the gig is done and I'm on to the next project. However, does any HVX user out there have any idea why, when imported to FCP, it would play audio for 20 seconds at the beginning of each clip and then have aby digibody - Café LA

Per my Distributor's request, I took my 960 x 720 HD horror film of 89 minutes in FCP and changed the settings to 1280 x 1080 in order to output to digibeta tape and Sr Cam. Now, after resizing to 151% of the image and "13" under distort aspect ratio to avoid that stretched look, I tried to save it and I'm getting the message, "Sapphire cannot save, Sapphire doesn't have enougby digibody - Café LA

I am working on a low budget horror movie, 90 min, shot 960 x 720 24pn. I shot it on an HVX 200. It has that digital quality/look about it, so I added Sapphire (Stylize) FilmDamage AND Filmlook. I'm trying to prepare it to be delivered to the distribution company. Thanks for the input. It's definitely not the CD music. Audio is the same on what was recorded on stage and their CD. Same pitch, etc. 1. I have experimented with all rates and been unsuccessful. 2. When I play back audio, audio is off when watching the raw files. 3. I also had audio drop outs on raw files after a minute or two 4. I shot a band's demo reel for weddings, etc. I shot on an HVX 200 and when I imported it into FCP: 1. The sound cuts out after 3 seconds and goes silent. But what I really care more about is: 2. When I try to align/lip sync the singer singing her song to the CD music they gave me, it's off. It starts out being in sync then drifts about 5 seconds later. Hello, I have a full length feature HD film, 720p24, shot on an HVX, 90 minutes in length. Heavy effects imported from AE (200). 20 tracks of audio, 3 tracks of video. It is on an external drive and I have 110 GB out of 1 TB free. It was working fine, now I?m getting the following dreaded error: ?Error: Out of memory.? Some sound clips are not playing while other sound clips play fine, any suggestions? - 12 years ago
I am trying to deliver a trailer for my movie to a distributor, everything was fine until this morning, when I tried to play the trailer and some sound clips were being heard while others did NOT play even though I could see them going in the meter. First of all, thank you for all of your input, I agree with everything everyone has said here and I appreciate all of your input. That being said, I did light it as if it were a film, I digitally added depth of field by putting a clip over a clip and masking out the characters in the foreground and blurring the background so it does look more cinematic and the characters pop out (and yes, thaby digibody - Café LA

I shot a movie awhile back on a Panasonic P2 camera without a red rock or Breavis adapter and it has a certain digital video look. I did filmlooks by magic bullet and tried saphire filmlook and it still looks digital. Does anyone have any advice to make it look more 16mm -esque? I'm not expecting perfect 35mm like a red camera, but I just hat ehte glistening, clear, sharp video look to it. Anyby digibody - Café LA
Background looks stretched - what gives? - 12 years ago
I shot my project on a panasonic hvx 200, using 960 x 720pn. For my home menu page on the DVD, I made a small video and set is as the background on my DVD project. When I'm looking at the DVD video, the image appears "Stretched" even though it's settings are 960 x 720. Is this because I shot HD and downgraded to SD? ...anyone have any suggestions on this one? Could it be an algorithm conflict with the other filters I'm using on this clip (sapphire grain, sapphire film damage, looks filter applied twice)? No, I didn't move anything. Literally, everything was fine, I used the "cut" blade to isolate the scene and color correct it and suddenly it all goes offline.by digibody - Café LA

I am working on a project, and I'm so close to being done I can taste it, however, I'm getting issue after issue. Now it seems my project is about to be exported to be DSP to be authored and I'm looking at it as a self contained movie in FCP where I have added heavy Film Look effects. Audio screw up from sound remixer - 13 years ago
I gave my aif files to my sound remixer out of an FCP export in 23.98, I got the files back with cleaned up sound but they now don't sync up (24fps? 29.98 now?). The project is 2 hrs, it runs off sync after 16 minutes. Anyone know how to convert from 29.98 (or whatever) to 23.98? Is that possible? I think he used digital performer....? Any advice is welcome. 1. I tried trashing my prefs with Pref Manager, no luck. 2. No disk space issue, I have 230 gigs left on the Terra (t) drive and 60 gigs left on the hard drive. 3. Not the render files, trashed and rerendered those... suggestions?by digibody - Café LA

Okay, so I just rendered a feature film project and now it's giving me the following errors: 1. General error and then randomly, 2. Out of memory Now this is strange, considering I have 241 gigs left on my t drive and 8 gigs of Ram. Anyone have any suggestions what is going on and how to fix it? Thank you. I've been working on my feature horror film, which has been going for three years. Suddenly, for no real reason, I am now seeing a message on one of my clips on the timeline. In the viewer, it's reading, "The effect "SmoothCam" failed to render." It has been fine for years, anyone have any ideas why all of a sudden it's giving me issues? Thank you for the download, in the CMS, the footage IS in sync, so how do I get it in sync in the timeline/AE exported? Again, it was shot 720-24 P, not PN. Thank you.by digibody - Café LA

OKAY, so I tried doing what I think you had mentioned and I imported one of the 35 clips into AE and exported after changing the composition settings to 29.97, that didn't work so I also added pulldown WSSWW with field render "upper" settings and it did nothing. I also tried to change the frame rate to 30. Is this what you meant?by digibody - Café LA

It's "P" NOT "PN," this was an operator's mistake and not intentional. If everything has been transfered into a quicktime file and I''m looking at it in FCP timeline, what can be done? The P2 footage from the cards has been erased, no backup. Where was the box to delete duplicate frames so I know for the future? Thank you. I shot a 720p24p project on my hvx 200. Footage looks great, however, when I transfered into FCP now it's playing the audio out of sync and cuts off prematurely, so I can still see the video but hear no audio halfway through the clip as I watch it on the viewer. Anyone know what's going on? The only think I can thing of was I accidentally, had 1080i settings and easy set up but then went backby digibody - Café LA

I shot a low budget horror movie on HD, HVX 200 - 720p24 fps. It looks very electronic and hard looking. It does have depth of field, well lit, lots of moving shots, framed properly, well cut and looks professional except for the actual electronic image. General Error (216)? What is that? - 13 years ago
I am trying to correct bad sound and when I try to "send to" from Final cut Pro to Soundtrack pro I get the error "General Error (216)". Incidentally, when I import this isolated aif file into Soundtrack pro (from the original recording, not through FCP) I CAN see it and work on it. Weird, huh? Any thoughts?
