On the advice of other users I purchased the Converter and have begun the process. The tutorial movies help but don't really give me a real world picture (no pun intended) oby qeditor - Café LA Re: FONTS - 14 years agoTry Century Gothic (despite its name, it's a very clean non-serif font that is nicely weighted - the Bold works well for headers and the Plain for sub-headers)by qeditor - Café LA Motion seqs in FCP no longer rendering - 14 years agoSorry about the double post - I put this in the Cafe LA forum, too... I have several Motion sequences in my FCP timeline which mysteriously will no longer render (its a 30 second seq). This project is ongoing and up to this point, FCP and Motion have worked flawlessly. I deleted FCP preferences, opened up a new project, copy and pasted the timeline seq into a new seq, still no luck. I want to be able to see this on my preview monitor as well as edit it natively.by qeditor - Café LA OT - Which is better for HD? - Kona 3 or Aja IO HD? - 14 years agoI'm looking to upgrade to better acquire footage (HD) my clients are giving me - I currently use the AJA IO box and am very happy with it, but it's a tussle getting HD through the SDI inputs into my system. Does anybody have a recommendation about either the Kona 3 or the AJA IO HD? Portability is not an issue... No answers to my post - 14 years agoHi Derek, I'll give that a try - here is the iDisk URL of an image taken off my broadcast monitor - I have enhanced the contrast so the white line is more visible - but believe me, in real life its plain to see.by qeditor - Café LA Re: I guess I stumped the band? No answers to my post - 14 years agoHi Tom, That's part of the problem - it only shows up on my broadcast monitor and the LCD for the client, not on the computer LCD's (Dell 2407WFP) in Final Cut. I'll try and post a digital shot of the broadcast monitor - its quite obvious on the screen.by qeditor - Café LA I guess I stumped the band? No answers to my post - 14 years agoMaybe no one has ever seen this before? There is a weird one pixel white line around my my white matte background and JPEG graphic.by qeditor - Café LA One pixel line around rendered graphic! - 15 years agoOK, in my confusion about this, I turn to the guys who have always helped me in the past - the Edit Gods of LAFCPUG! I have a JPEG graphic that has a white background around the image, but the image itself (a JPEG image of a graph of arrows) goes right to the edge of the screen (720 x 480). I scale it down to fit within the screen then I select Matte --> Color and use the eyedropper on theby qeditor - Café LA Re: Print to Video Vs. Authoring a DVD - 15 years agoThe problem I have found with DVD recorders (I have two external Pioneers on two different FC P systems) is they tend to have a fixed bit rate that some other players (and PC's in particular) have a hard time reading - thus, they skip during playback (I've noticed when importing them with MPEG Streamclip, they also have LOTS of timecode breaks, too). I no longer send even one-off's direct to a DVby qeditor - Café LA Re: FCP and AJA IOHD Issues - 15 years agoMaybe a Leopard issue? I note you are running Tiger - are you also running QT 7.6?by qeditor - Café LA Re: FCP and AJA IOHD Issues - 15 years agoMake sure you don't have an external FW drive hooked up while capturing - the IO is taking over the FW bus and does NOT like anything else on the same bus at the same time.by qeditor - Café LA Re: NO REAL-TIME EXTERNAL VIDEO AJA iO LD and LA with FCP- Blackmagic INTENSITY - 15 years agoDid you make sure you don't have any Firewire drives hooked up? AJA IO does not play friendly when there are other FW drives on the same computer - I had a similar problem with my AJA IO LD. Once I unplugged the FW 800 external, everything worked fine.by qeditor - Café LA Anyone using Leopard 10.5.5 and Quicktime 7.5.5? - 15 years agoJust curious - Any problems with this Software Upgrade? it seems to have been out for awhile - haven't heard any screams of dismay, but wanted to check with you all first!by qeditor - Café LA Re: Compressing to Flash? - 15 years agoSorenson Squeeze. I finally bit the bullet and bought it - and I love it. Doing this on an Editbox was a snap - juby qeditor - Motion Re: OS X virus protection - 15 years agoNot so fast folks - there are indeed viruses for Macs - this is one that's been around: and I recently had to download MacScan to get rid of a trojan horse virus (can't remember it's name, but it takes over your email and slows down apps opening, etc.) The MacScan download is a free demo for thirty days.by qeditor - Café LA Re: idvd 5.0.1 -34506 error - 15 years agoThis link has a few solutions - hope one works for you!by qeditor - DVD Studio Pro Re: Compressing for Emailing - 16 years agoTry this: www.yousendit.com www.sendthisfile.com Both are free and you can send up to 1 GB.by qeditor - Café LA Re: Ftp sites and video - 16 years agoI use www.sendthisfile all the time - never a problem, even with files up to 1 GB in size. The basic service of one file at a time is free, but the multiple-file service is only $7 a month - a whole lot cheaper than a dedicated FTP of my own.by qeditor - Café LA 3D plugin for text? - 16 years agoI'm loving using Motion 3, and have started creating some nice 2D animated logos in it (with effects running in the 3D space) - but my client has now asked me to make the text of their logo appear 3D, too. Is there a plugin that anyone has used that will do this? Do I need to go outside of Motion or is there something that is usable within the program? The logo is from an .eps file... In the Viewer window, Boris is accessed by clicking on the button with the "A" on it. Scroll down the popup menu that is revealed and choose "Title 3D" Then choose Roll or Crawl.by qeditor - Café LA Re: Hunting down a corrupt media file - 16 years agoA less drastic measure that has worked for me is to make a copy of the project file and put it on a different partition. Control-click the FCP project file, open a different partition and then command-v paste it. Then launch from that pasted version - once the project opens, then Save As, name it something slightly different back to your Documents folder.
