Both plug-ins are built using Apple?s latest FxPlug 2 architecture to take full advantage of GPU rendering and 64 bit processing. DH_GridX creates a grid of up to 30 horizontal and vertical divisions which can be independently set. As any designer will say, grids are a useful tool to assist in the setting up of consistenby digitalheaven - Café LA - X Re: FCP 7.0: select multiple clips, deselect one, unable to move selected - 13 years agoNot seeing that here. 3 clips lassooed to select command-click on 3rd clip to deselect Drag to move selected clips works as expectedby digitalheaven - The Bug Report Re: ProResHQ Color Shift - 14 years agoSorry no idea. Just pointing out what it is.by digitalheaven - The Bug Report Re: ProResHQ Color Shift - 14 years agoJeff Do a search for "quicktime h.264 gamma" and you'll get a ton of results about this problemby digitalheaven - The Bug Report Re: ProResHQ Color Shift - 14 years agoIf you're importing RGB images, it could well be the Gamma option not being correctly set in FCP. There's a default in user preferences and you can also change it on individual imported clips.by digitalheaven - The Bug Report Re: Big Timecode window - 14 years agoHi Loren Nope, there's no switch you're missing, even with the FCP7 timecode window, it's not possible to view the source timecode from the sequence side. The clip time and source time options refer to when you're working with timecode that doesn't match with the media frame rate, like shooting 23.98fps inside 60fps.by digitalheaven - The Bug Report Re: Wish list for FCP 6.0 - Frank's lot: Markers - 17 years agoFrank Not exactly what you're looking for but if you right-click on the timecode ruler in the Timeline, FCP lists all the sequence markers in the current sequence so you can quickly jump to one.by digitalheaven - FCP Feature Requests Re: PPMs - no video card! - 14 years agoI think you may have to play around with SoundFlower or Audio Hijack Pro to route the correct audio. Although it was a long time ago and I don't quite remember now!by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Extend the bug or Freeze frame - 15 years agoA freeze of the last frame of the bug will be fine. It will get recreated if you upres so you don't need to worry about the quality.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Codec Levels - 15 years agoBecause it's a video codec not a graphics codec. Nothing to stop them bringing out ProRes444 with alpha channel support in the future.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Quick 'n' dirty way to go from 16:9 to 4:3 for YouTube - 15 years agoSounds like that info is a bit out of date. You Tube will very happily accept 16:9 video and in fact for watching in full screen mode, it's far better that you keep it 16:9 rather than letterbox it. I'd advise you do an export at 640x360 and upload that. Remember to deinterlace!by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: OT: MUST HAVE APP FOR FCP!!!! - 15 years agoYou did and I'm very grateful! Seeing the world through some very tired eyes right now! Thanks very much for your blog post BTW as well. It made me smile.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: OT: MUST HAVE APP FOR FCP!!!! - 15 years agoHi Scott The requirement for FCP6.0.2 or later is because Loader needs the Apple Event feature that was added in 6.0.2 so it can request a list of the projects that are currently open.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Quicktime export with transparent background - 15 years ago...and that the section you're exporting is NOT rendered, else the alpha channel won't be exported properly.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Confused!!! DVCAM 4:3 or 3:2 aspect ratio? - 15 years agoYes it is horribly confusing because there's two types of aspect ratios being mixed up here and they mean completely different things. The short answer is that you shouldn't be messing with the Capture Preset Editor and use the presets as they're set up. If you've captured DV at 720x480 with a pixel aspect ratio of 3:2, then you've done the correct thing. Longer answer: There are two typesby digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Level Clipping when exporting Quicktimes - 15 years agoAnimation codec definitely clips superwhites, so you don't want to do there. :-) This seems to be a Film Master import of YUV QT codecs problem rather than an FCP one. I know very little about Film Master but it seems to be RGB based so it would have to convert the YUV in an uncompressed movie into RGB and it sounds like it's messing that up, or some settings aren't correct on the import side.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Level Clipping when exporting Quicktimes - 15 years agoHow are you exporting? Using Export > QuickTime Movie or Export > Using QuickTime Conversion. AFAIK the latter will always clip illegal levels.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: FCP export "sidebars"? - 15 years agoYes, exactly. When you drag to a larger size, at some point the black bars aren't needed anymore because the video size is the same or larger than the width of the controls.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: FCP export "sidebars"? - 15 years agoThe black bars aren't on the export, they're just showing because of the minimum width of the QuickTime Player window. As the video is smaller than the width it needs for the controls at the bottom, it puts black at the sides. Zoom to double size and the black bars disappear.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: 16/9 Distortion discovery or not? - 15 years agoThe distort value of -33.33 is normal if you put a 4:3 clip into a 16:9 anamorphic timeline. That's what gives the clip the pillarbox effect so you see the entire height of the 4:3 clip with black at the sides. Note that the Scale is set to 100%. A distort value of 0 means the pixels on source clip are exactly matched up to the pixels in the sequence. Again the Scale is set to 100%. That's whaby digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Option key modifier for Match Frame command - 15 years agoI could be misunderstanding you but as Tom mentioned, if you're using Replace edit, then the only thing that matters in the Viewer is the playhead position. No need to clear or set in and out points.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Multicliping merged clips - 15 years agoMerged clips won't work as sources for a multiclip - you'll get the sync errors you're seeing. Instead take the raw clips and make a multiclip from those.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Another fields/progressive issue - 15 years agoDigibeta doesn't care, it just sees frames of video. They may be interlaced or they may be progressive.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Another fields/progressive issue - 15 years agoIf you want a progressive master then change the clip properties to None and make sure the sequence setting is set to None as well. Progressive source clips tagged as Lower Field in a progressive sequence are a bad idea because you'll lose vertical resolution. QuoteThat´s one thing I don´t understand. Why does fcp interpret 25p shot on P2 as lower fields? I would guess because it doesn'tby digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Motion Text objects to add at cam point - 15 years agoIt sounds like you've got another group or layer selected so Motion is adding the new text layer at the same location. Before you add the new text object, press Shift-Command-A to deselect all.by digitalheaven - Motion Re: Markers Moving to the sequence - 15 years agoMurray Two suggestions: The problem with copy/paste from a selects reel is that often it doesn't allow you to be precise enough. One technique I've used in the past is to make up the selects sequence and open it into the Canvas/Viewer, then when I want to use a clip, I switch to that tab, find the clip and press F to matchframe back to the source. This is where FCP is different to Avid in tby digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Animation temporal compression? - 15 years agoIf the keyframes isn't set to "All" then that's temporal compression.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Animation temporal compression? - 15 years agoOpen the file in QT Player. Export to Animation codec with the Keyframes set to All and Quality to Best. Then try opening the new file in Cinema Tools.by digitalheaven - Café LA Re: Music keys - 16 years agoGo to the Project tab next to the Video tab in the left hand pane and the very last parameter is where you can change the project's key.by digitalheaven - Café LA |
