Have dropped one filter on clip (line screen), and want to dissolve the filter on....."basic motion fade" fades up from black.....playing with opacity does the same....can this only be done with filters that have a property that "turns the filter off" and using keyframes? Thanks to both of you, Cameronby camshaft - Motion text mirroring - 18 years agoIs there a "mirror" type function in Motion? I'm trying to put text over water and see the reflection. The only rotation I've found rotates the text in 2D 180, so that it is upside down, but the letters are not true reflection. I can't seem to find a 3D control, so that I can flip the text upside down, and then rotate the letters. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Cameronby camshaft - Motion Re: Fading Filters - 18 years agoYes, but is there no way to use basic motion instead of keyframing?by camshaft - Motion Re: Fading Filters - 18 years agoHi, Did you get an answer to your problem? I have been trying to do the same thing. Tried to use Basic Motion/Fade in-fade out on the Glow filter, but, it faded out the entire clip, even when highlighting (applying to) just the filter, it still faded out the video. I had to use keyframing, and it became more complex, and had to keyframe the threshold. Camby camshaft - Motion Re: FCP to Motion workflow - 18 years agothanks, Mark I posted without searching ONE OTHER tutorial that mentioned turning the background opacity to zero. Camby camshaft - Motion FCP to Motion workflow - 18 years agoI seem to be missing something. Have searched the forum, gone through the tutorial, and manual, and am stumped! In FCP have highlighted in timeline the clips, sent to Motion, do not embed, made my titles, unchecked the video background, saved, went to FCP and imported Motion file, dragged from Browser to timeline on video track above the video, and rendered. FCP is coming through fine, but, the other apps come through my G5. I have a Datavideo Dac-10 that takes FW from the G5 and routes to my speakers. Do I have to use USB connection and a second set of speakers? Every so often I need to digitize material on Avid and bring into FCP. I don't need timeline or EDLs, just the material. Wes at Automatic Duck emailed that the only way is to convert to QT and that does not include TC, which is what I've found. Anyone discover anything? Joe, now you see why I use "camshaft", from back in the day when people worked on their own cars and knew the names of car parts, so, the nickname stuck. The videos were for the web, and I tried Compressor, Sorenson 3, and H.264. According to my notes, Compressor and H.264 did not hold up AT ALL! Lots of artifacts, slo-mos and transitional effects turned into large blocks, vby camshaft - Café LA Re: Best way to get 24p footage to Slow Motion??? - 18 years agoHave you had any success with making a smooth 24p slo mo? I tried Joe's Filter, but, it didn't look any better than slo-mo ing through FCP. I tried Compressor, but it doesn't have a menu to double the frame rate to 48. Does anyone know how well the Realviz Retimer works with 24pa footage? They have an educational rate for $130, so that makes it more financially palatable. Camby camshaft - Café LA no audio through speaker monitors - 18 years agoIs this a common situation?
