Re: anamorphic - 18 years agothanks Nick, i understand how anamorphic works. And changing QT is not quite my solution. Even when burned to disc and played on a television, the media is still squeezed. there has to something in the workflow gone wrong. But, as far as i know everything is set up for anamorphic, right up to the point of compression and burn. there has to be some thing in the compression. thanks, Jby James T - Café LA anamorphic - 18 years agowhats up fellas, I shot an sdx900 anamorphic, captured anamorphic, sequence settings DV50 anamorphic, the Canvas is anamorphic. But my damn exoport is NOT I dont get why my final compression (DV50anamophic) is not. I have tried QTmovie, multiple compressor exports and still my final image is squeezed. any help? thanks guys.by James T - Café LA Re: Importing files of dubious - 18 years agoThe First thing you need to know is what camera and what format. You can bring the files into your bin right click, Item properties, format, should tell you what you need to know. from there you can make a new project and set your "easy setup" (i.e. sequence, capture, playback, and output settings) with the correct format from the FCP menu. you might want to call your friend w/ theby James T - Café LA DVCpro50 Anamorphic Sequence - 18 years agohey guys, got another mistake for you... We shot some footage on a SDX900, shot and captured DV50 Anamorphic. Finishing on DVD, everything looks great. Except, I forgot to set the sequence Anamorphic, The sequence is DVCpro50, but not anamorphic. I have already finished the cut, is there anyway to bring my EDL to a correct sequence so I do not have to crop or re-cut my footage? thanks for anyby James T - Café LA Re: FCP5 -> FCP4.5 via XML problems - 18 years agosince someone is one the topic. does the xml export take the source footage with it. or do you need to copy the original captured footage and copy into a folder with the xml file?by James T - Café LA Re: resolution/aspect ratio? - 18 years agothanks Shane, Thats what i have been playing with, i just thought there might be someting else. sorry, you are going to get a lot of stupid film school questions out of me.by James T - Café LA Re: resolution/aspect ratio? - 18 years agoI have tried the animation codec you suggested and it put my image in a less then 4:3 ratio. i dont know. thanks guys.by James T - Café LA Re: resolution/aspect ratio? - 18 years agoThe camera guys run out of San Diego, there company is "Speed Vision". I'm not quite sure the of the name of the camera. I believe you stated you have footage with this one. I have worked with this footage before when i brought the single framed tiff files fin FCP and exported each shot into DVCpro HD 1080/60i. NOw this worked fine.(looked great). except its stretched my image (noboby James T - Café LA resolution/aspect ratio? - 18 years agohey fellas, we just got done shooting with a HD camera that carries a 1504 x 1128 resolution. my sequence setting in FCP 5 wont carry that same resolution even with the the custom settings. now, what would be the best way to convert this footage to keep the best image? Thanks for any help guys.by James T - Café LA Glare (effect or Filter) - 18 years agoI was curious if there is an effect in AE or FCP that can produce a glare effect (not lens flare) on a specific part of the frame (i.e. Car window). The problem is that you can see the stunt driver through the window and was hoping to hide some of this through out the shots. Thank guys for any help.by James T - Café LA Color Correction (shift Fields) - 18 years agoHey guys, Got another question. Under the Filters tab, there 4 shift in field tabs to change from -1, none , +1. What exactly does this feature do? I can see the slight change in hue when changing these. Also, which should be use for the desired default?by James T - Café LA Re: Speed Vision high speed camera - 18 years agothanks shane... only FCP will read my tiff files. i have been trying to compress them into dvcpro 50, only its not letting me. Is it because the tiff files are 4:4:4(im not quite sure if they are) or what? do you know how the tech got the animation codec?by James T - Café LA Speed Vision high speed camera - 18 years agoI am editing footage shot on a "Speed Vision" camera capable of shooting up to 100,000 fps with resolution up to 1080 X 1520. Now I understand this is a bit of an overkill for a "Hummer" commercial. Were only shooting up to 250 fps. Heres where it gets tricky, It records directly to a hard drive and puts each shot in seperate folders with single frames in tiff files. Is thereby James T - Café LA Re: 35 Workflow - 18 years agoI appriciate it guys. telecine to Digibeta was all i needed I am finishing in on tape (DVCpro).. i thought i said that.by James T - Café LA Re: 35 Workflow - 18 years agonot doing anything too crazy. Just wanted to know the best format to transfer to from telecine that will hold the resolution when bringing it into FCp 5, now that FCP 5 auto converts to 60i is there any thing else to do to hold resolution when we down convert to more then likely DVCpro.by James T - Café LA Re: 35 Workflow - 18 years agomy bad guys... its been a long day. just transferring to tape and out to DV.by James T - Café LA |
