Have purchased fcpX awhile back and have been using/learning it for a bit. Really like the speed of it. I have one problem I have not found a cure for yet. Capturing long clips, say an hour long, form a dv camera or deck and keeping the audio and video in sync. I watch it as it captures and the audio sync seems to be fine with the video on caby Bret Latter - Café LA - X Re: error: out of memory - 14 years agowell the problem came back... Bretby Bret Latter - Café LA change cut media with media manager?? - 15 years agoI did a rough cut of interview footage to knock out all the dead space for the editor. Made two separate quicktime files from the timeline with the same in and out points. The only differant between the two is the sound mixing. So the two quicktime files should have the same time codes, just differant names. We desided to use one of the quicktime versions and cut the piece with it. Then exported the file ' save copy as'. But the volume changes I made to it by key framing with the volume control under the wave file window did not export with the changes. I've tried it more than once and none of the files export with volume changes. Am I missing something when trying to export the file? thanks, bretby Bret Latter - Soundtrack Pro Trying to re-locate a tutorial - 16 years agoA while back there was a great tutorial on converting and cropping 4x3 footage to 16x9 footage. I can't seem to locate it now, can someone point me in the right direction? thanks, bretby Bret Latter - Café LA Re: OT--differance between dv, dvcpro25, and dvcam - 16 years agoThanks! That's what I needed!by Bret Latter - Café LA Re: OT--differance between dv, dvcpro25, and dvcam - 16 years agoThanks to everyone who answered my question. Is there an artical or web site that explains this a little more in depth. I will need to have something in hand when I confront him with this info. And yes, unfortunatly this is one of those petty times I will need more than the words out of my mouth. thanks, bretby Bret Latter - Café LA OT--differance between dv, dvcpro25, and dvcam - 16 years agoI have had a coleague of mine lately telling me that there is a differance between dv, dvcpro25, and dvcam that I guess I need some clarification of. He tells me that the dcvpro25 and dvcam work at 25mbs transfer rate and that dv is only 12mbs. I know that dv doesn't have a 25mb transfer rate, but I didn't think there was that big of a differance between dv, and the other formats. It installs and opens fine. I just can't update it to the latest version. 2.1.2. The software updater does see motion and says it needs to be updated. Not converting it back to 29.97df. And if it will do this will I be able to play it back on a CRT type consumer TV. I am trying to work out some issues with eliminating roll in a TV set when being shot with a Viper recording at 23.98. And I'm just experiminting. Thanks, Bretby Bret Latter - DVD Studio Pro Capturing seamlessly w/ multiple files - 16 years agoI am trying to capture a number of plays. Instead of capturing as 1 big file (1 to 2 hours long) I would like to capture the whole play in a number of smaller files. Where one file ends the following file picks right up where the other file stops at. Can this be done in fcp? I hope I'm explaining well enough. Canopus called it seamless capture on thier early systems. Bretby Bret Latter - Café LA Firewire connection question - 17 years agoI have had some problems outputting from my external g-tech firewire800 harddrive. It has hiccops, skips, or what ever you want to call it while coping back to tape via firewire400 port. I asked this question a while back and was told to try and move the footage to internal drive and then output, because there is only one bus for the firewire. That works great. No problems then.
